Notification for Admission to Vacant Seats in M.A./M.Sc./M.Com./MRS Courses for the academic session 2025-27

Postgraduate seats in Higher Educational Institutions are coveted. The West Bengal State University has followed all online procedures for PG admission 2025. Opportunities have been given to all categories of students. All reservation norms and government orders have been followed. In continuation to the earlier notification vide no WBSU/Reg/PG.Adm25/197/25-26 dated 08/09/2025, it is hereby further notified to the applicants to adhere to the following schedule for PG Admission 2025. In view of the fact that some PG seats are vacant, the university is opening further the window of opportunity for admission to the students who had applied for online admission.

Applicants fulfilling the following criteria are requested to report to P.G. Section, WBSU as stated below:

• Applicants should have to appear anyone of the following dates with printed online application form duly signed.
• Applicants who got chance but have not taken admission or applied through portal but did not get chance for admission.
• Applicants belonging to both the Category-A (Home University) or Category-B (Other University) are eligible.

Important Instructions for the interested applicants:

• Eligibility criteria remain unchanged (as per PG Prospectus 2025).
• Selection will be purely based on merit and subject to availability of vacant seats only amongst the interested applicants who turn up for admission to the respective courses on the date and time detailed above. No candidate will be entertained after the scheduled time as mentioned above.
• For Other University applicants having CBCS marksheets, “Honours marks shall be calculated on the basis of marks obtained by the applicant in Core Subject (CC) and DSE (Discipline Specific Elective) whereas General Marks shall be calculated on the basis of marks obtained only in GE (General Elective) courses. Such applicants are requested to submit the calculation clearly on the above pattern on the reporting date.
• All applicants are requested to bring all the original documents (MP Admit Card, Marksheets of MP, HS & UG, Caste Certificate, Income Certificate) and one set of photocopy of the said documents along with a printout of the Online Application Form duly signed. If selected, the student will have to deposit the requisite admission fees as prescribed in PG Prospectus 2025 on the above scheduled date. If the student is unable to deposit the requisite fee on the schedule date, his/her application will be treated as cancelled.
• During Physical Verification of all the original documents with the online data / application form submitted, if any discrepancy is found the selection will be treated as cancelled.
• Interested applicants should report to PG Section, WBSU as per the respective schedule mentioned at Serial A.
• Publication of Merit List and Admission will be held as per the respective schedule mentioned at Serial B & C.
  However University does not guarantee that the entire admission process of the students appearing on the scheduled date will be completed in a day. Hence, the students may have to appear on another day for completion of the same process.
• The publication of merit lists for the above different courses amongst the applications received on the scheduled date within the specified time schedule will be displayed at Campus on another dates mentioned above at Sl B & C. The physical document verification and deposition of admission fees will be carried out after the publication of the merit list for the respective subjects.
