In accordance with the Government of West Bengal, Department of Higher Education (University Branch), Notification No. 986-Edn(U)/HED-12016(21)/5/2025-UNV SEC-Dept. of HE, dated 01.08.2025, applications are invited for admission to the following Postgraduate Programmes for the academic session 2025-2027:
- M.Sc. in Zoology [4 semesters CBCS (2 Years) Regular Course]
- M.A. in English [4 semesters CBCS (2 Years) Regular Course]
The Postgraduate Admission Portal of Rishi Bankim Chandra College (rbccollege.ac.in) will remain open for online application from 12/08/2025 to 20/08/2025. There will be no application fee.

M.Sc. in Zoology: Minimum 40% marks in B.Sc. (Honours) in Zoology from a UGC-recognized University.

M.A. in English: Minimum 40% marks in B.A. (Honours) in English from a UGC-recognized University.

Candidates who have completed their Honours degree under the 10+2+3 system or equivalent from a UGCrecognized university.

Applicants from recognized universities in West Bengal or other states (passing years 2025, 2024 or 2023) are eligible.

Seat Ratio: 80% for Home University (West Bengal State University) students, 20% for Other Universities. Unfilled seats in either category will be filled from the other category

Reservation for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PWD/EWS as per Government of West Bengal norms, subject to pending legal proceedings.
