National Testing Agency (NTA) is inviting Online Application Form for National Teachers Eligibility Test (NTET)-2026 for Postgraduates of Indian Systems Medicine and Homoeopathy who desire to take up teaching profession.
NTET-2026 Examination will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) Mode as per the details given below:

Information about the eligibility, scheme of exam, exam centers, exam fee, procedure for applying etc. are mentioned in the Information Bulletin hosted on the website of NTA https://exams.nta.nic.in/ntet/. Candidates pursuing a PG degree course in Ayurveda, Siddha or Unani Discipline should have completed 30 months of course duration and should obtain NOC from respective college at the time of filling of online application form.
Interested Candidates may apply online at https://exams.nta.nic.in/ntet/ during the period from 11 March, 2026 to 02 April, 2026. The application fee can be paid online through Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the NTA website for updates.

Syllabus
The test will be conducted comprising of eight modules as per the syllabus prescribed by NCH and NCISM
Mode of Examination:
The Examination shall be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only.
Pattern of Examination:
The Test paper will consist of eight sections based on the units of the syllabus. All the sections will consist of objective type, multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
Subject and Syllabus for AYUSH Teachers:
The List of Subjects and Syllabus for NTET June 2026 are given at Appendix-II.
Medium of Question Paper:
The medium of Question Paper shall be in English & Hindi only.
In case of any ambiguity in translation/construction of a question in the exam, its English version shall be treated as final.
Marking Scheme:
Each question carries 01 (one) marks.
Number of Questions: 100
For each correct response, candidate will get 01 (one) marks.
There will be No Negative Marking.
Un-answered/un-attempted will be given no marks.
To answer a question, the candidate needs to choose one option as correct option.
However, after the process of Challenges of the Answer Key, in case there are multiple correct options or change in key, only those candidates who have attempted it correctly as per the revised Answer key will be awarded marks.
In case a Question is dropped due to some technical error, full marks shall be given to all the candidates irrespective of the fact who have attempted it or not.
Qualifying Marks: Minimum 50%
Duration of Test:
Duration for each test paper would be 120 minutes. (Compensatory time for PwD/PwBD Candidates of 20 minutes for each hour).

Note: The candidate must have obtained any of the above qualification from any of the recognized institute of NCISM/NCH of any state/centre/government/private approved institute.
The post-graduate degree students in Indian System of Medicine completed thirty months of Post-graduate Degree program shall be eligible to appear in this examination whereas for homoeopathic system of Medicine the candidate with recognized post-graduate degree shall be eligible to appear in this examination.
The Degree included/recognised under the Second Schedule of the IMCC Act, 1979 or Section 35 of NCISM Act, 2020.
Any person having requisite qualifications and age for teacher who is working or has worked in non-teaching profession such as medical officers, research officers and desire to take up teaching profession, shall have to qualify the National Teachers’ Eligibility Test for Indian System of Medicine.
The qualifying in NTET Examination does not confer the right to appointment as teacher in any position i.e. Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor. The appointment to the teaching profession in any position shall be governed by the provisions of Regulations as specified in the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (Minimum Standards of Undergraduate Ayurveda Education) Regulations, 2022; the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (Minimum Standards of Undergraduate Unani Education) Regulations, 2022; the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (Minimum Standards of Undergraduate Siddha Education) Regulations, 2022; NCISM (Minimum Essential Standards, Assessment and Rating for Postgraduate Institutions Minimum Standards for Postgraduate Education in Ayurveda) Regulations, 2024; Minimum Essential Standards, Assessment and Rating for Postgraduate Institutions and Minimum Standards for Postgraduate Education in Siddha Regulations, 2024; Minimum Essential Standards, Assessment and Rating for Postgraduate Institutions and Minimum Standards for Postgraduate Education in Unani Regulations, 2024; the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (National Examinations for Indian System of Medicine) Regulations, 2023; National Commission for Homoeopathy (National Examinations in Homoeopathy) Regulations 2023; The National Commission For Homoeopathy (Minimum Essential Standards For Homoeopathic Colleges And Attached Hospitals), Regulations – 2024 & The National Commission for Homoeopathy (Homoeopathy Post-Graduate Degree Course- Doctor of Medicine in Homoeopathy) Regulations, 2024; The National Commission for Homoeopathy (Homoeopathy PostGraduate Degree Course- Doctor of Medicine in Homoeopathy) Amendment Regulations, 2025.
Any person who desires to take up teaching profession at the level of Assistant professor for the first time shall have to appear for this examination and shall have to obtain minimum of fifty percent of marks to get qualified.
Master of Science in Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry, Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, Master of Public Health from recognised Institutes can also appear for National Teacher’s Eligibility Test examination for the post of Assistant Professor, if the candidates are holding the Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery degree.
Any person who desires to take up teaching profession at the level of Associate professor for the first time and having five years of experience in regular service (after possessing post-graduate qualification in the concerned subject) in Central Government Health Services or State Government Health services, Ministry of Ayush or full time five years of experience as medical officer in regular service (after possessing postgraduate qualification in the concerned subject) in recognised Homoeopathy Medical College can appear in National Teacher’s Eligibility Test examination for the post of Associate Professor.
Any person who desires to take up teaching profession at the level of Associate professor for the first time and having recognised Post Graduate qualification in Homoeopathy in concerned subject with five years of fulltime research experience in Research Councils of Central Government or State Government or Union territory Administration or University or National Institutions with at least three publication in indexed or peer reviewed journal can appear in National Teacher’s Eligibility Test examination for the post of Associate Professor.
Doctor of Philosophy degree holder along with Master of Science in Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry, Forensic Medicine and Toxicology and Master of Public Health from recognised Institutes can appear in National Teacher’s Eligibility Test examination for the post of Assistant Professor.
The Postgraduate candidates pursuing Ayurveda/Siddha/Unani streams must provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by the concerned college/institution that shall be mandatory. The NOC must certify that the candidate is a regular postgraduate student of the institution and has completed 30 months of the prescribed postgraduate programme as on.................(mention the last date of application). The certificate shall be issued by the Principal/Head of the Institution of the concerned college as per the proforma in Appendix–IX.
Postgraduate candidates from streams other than Ayurveda/Siddha/Unani (MD/MS) shall be required to have successfully completed their postgraduate programme prior to appearing for the NTET-2026 Examination.
A candidate secured minimum of fifty percent (50%) and above shall be declared as qualified in National Teachers’ Eligibility Test for Indian System of Medicine / Homoeopathy.
