Admission Process
PHASE 1: MITID DAT (Design Aptitude Test)
MITID DAT is a design entrance test for admissions in Bachelor of Design (B.Des) and Master of Design (M.Des) programmes at MIT Institute of Design Pune. It is conducted at various centres across the country. MITID reserves its right to change or cancel any of these centres. Based on scores obtained from MITID DAT, shortlisted candidates will be called for second phase.

PHASE 2: Studio Test and Personal Interview
Studio Test and Personal Interview is conducted at MITID campus in Pune. The second phase of the admission procedure will consist of studio tests followed by personal interviews at Institute in Pune.

The result of shortlisted candidates for the Second Phase will be announced on MITID website.

No separate call letters will be sent to the shortlisted candidates. All those candidates called for the second phase are required to attend the studio tests and interview, which completes the process of selection.

The Admission Committee decides the procedures, grades and weightage every year.

The norms for the selection are the sole prerogative of the Admission Committee and the decision of the Admission Committee and the Management in any of the matters concerning the admission process and selection will be final. Any direct or indirect attempt to influence the admission committee or its members, academic office bearers or management will lead to the automatic disqualification of the candidate(s).
How to Apply
  • An online Registration Form is filled by Student
  • Register for MITID DAT with your email id and mobile number on (www.dat.net.in).
  • An automated verification link will be sent to your registered email ID. Activate your account by clicking the link.
  • Proceed to payment option and pay Rs. 3,000/- for Indian applicants and Rs. 4,500/- for NRI, PIO, OCI & Foreign Nationals.
  • Provide the required details in the application form & upload the necessary documents.
  • Accept the declaration and submit the online application form.
  • On scrutiny, verification and acceptance of application form, Admit card will be generated and sent to candidates registered email id.
NOTE:
Candidates can also download the Admit Card by login to his/her profile on MITID DAT portal.

Admission Process
PHASE 1: Submission of Forms & Evaluation of application
When online application forms along with the payment of Application fee and all the required documents; are received the admission cell will verify documents and check the requisite qualifications for admission. Application will be forwarded to the Admission Committee for Evaluation. The Admission Committee will shortlist the applications based on the previous academic track record, English Proficiency Test (if applicable), Statement of Purpose, Letters of Recommendation and Portfolio.

PHASE 2: Portfolio Review & Interview
The interview schedule through video conferencing will be intimated to the shortlisted candidate through email. The details of the conference call will also be intimated in the email. The admission committee on completion of the interviews will select the final list of candidates who are eligible to take admission in the institute. The list of final selected candidates will be displayed on the website and through email. The offer letters will be sent to all the selected candidates for further process of admission confirmation on their email registered with us.

PHASE 3: Administrative and payment of Academic Fee
If you receive an offer letter through email, you need to confirm your intention of joining the said program by making a payment of annual academic fee within stipulated period mentioned in the offer letter. Kindly ensure that this payment is to be made within the stipulated date mentioned in the offer letter. The balance payment of annual fee is to be paid on or before the date of reporting. Applicants who fail to make the payment within stipulated date will not be able to secure a provisional admission to the institute and their seat will be offered to the next applicant in the waitlist.

PHASE 4: Letter for Student Visa
MITID will issue a "Provisional Admission Letter" only to the foreign national students who require the Student Visa. This letter is issued only after receipt of payment of fee as mentioned in the offer letter. Applicant can use this letter as a supporting document while applying for his/her students' visa at the Indian Mission in his / her country.
NOTE:
The Visa should be student’s Visa and should mention the name of “MIT Art Design & Technology University – MIT Institute of Design”. Any other type of visa is invalid and final admission will not be granted to students who do not have a valid visa. For the interview at the Indian Embassy make sure that you carry relevant documents to prove how you intend to finance your education in India.

PHASE 5: Reporting
On confirmation of the receipt of payment of fee applicant will be considered as 'Provisionally Admitted' to MIT Institute of Design. Subsequently, Institute will send you the Admission confirmation letter regarding the formalities to be completed at the time of reporting. Before the commencement of the academic program you will have to report at the Institute to complete reporting formalities.

Formalities at the time of Reporting
- Medical Test: International students will have to undergo a medical examination. Medical check-up will be conducted at Institute authorized clinic / hospital. Collect the Medical Test Form for Medical Check-up. After undergoing medical test submit the counterfoil of the Medical Test form.
- Accounts Department: Take the confirmation of Fee details from Accounts Department. Pay the balance amount or short fall if any.
- Eligibility Formalities: The student has to submit self-attested Eligibility documents at the time of reporting. The admission will be provisional till the clearance of the same. The student is liable to submit all the necessary documents mentioned above as per the category. The documents which are not possible to be submitted at the time of reporting must be submitted before 31st August. Students who fail to submit the documents within the stipulated date will not be allowed to appear for the semester I examination. They may have to forfeit the academic fee and may lose an academic year.

PHASE 6: Submission & Verification of all the required documents with Originals
The students are advised to carry all original documents along with 2 sets of attested photocopies. The students have to report to the institute on the specific dates mentioned in the admission confirmation letter.

SEMESTER WISE/ YEAR WISE BACHELOR DEGREE MARK SHEET (IN CASE APPLYING FOR MASTERS PROGRAMME) - Both - front and back side of the mark sheet have to be attached. If the content in the marks sheet is not in english, then the certified english translated version must also be submitted in addition to the native language certificate.
PREDICTED SCORE OR PRE BOARD MARKS (IF AWAITING FOR FINAL RESULTS) - A candidate's predicted score is an expected score, based on his or her performance on previous examination. Please note predicted score or pre-board score should be duly endorsed by the principal of the school / college on the school / college letter head.) On declaration of the final results the candidate must submit the final result immediately. If the marks sheets of the qualifying examination are not submitted within the stipulated date, institute cannot be held responsible for the lost opportunity to study or future career.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE - Write an essay describing why you want to pursue design as career, also describe your strengths & weaknesses, professional / academic achievement till date. Write your goals & objectives of studying at mit institute of design (word limit 1000 words)
LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATIONS IN ORIGINAL - The letter must be written by a teacher/ principal who have known you for a period of at least two years. The letter must mention the capacity in which he/she has known the student, the length of time he/she has known the student. The letter should attest the student’s character, capabilities and the track record of achievement and excellence through leadership roles. The recommendation has to be on the school / college/ institute letter head and duly signed along with the official stamp and seal of the said school/ college/ institute

MIT ID MBA Innovation Program is a 2-year (Master’s) Full time residential program for self-driven and passionate individuals who aspire to create innovative products, services and businesses for todays and future world.

In case there are any vacant seats in a particular discipline it will be transferred to other disciplines where there are more candidates in waiting list. Intake for NRI, PIO, OCI & International students will be maximum 10 % over and above of regular intake. Rules of reservations apply as per the prevalent Government of Maharashtra directives.
