The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission called off the Group II and IIA examinations on Sunday after a technical malfunction disrupted the process at multiple centres. A failure in the automated system used for exam hall allocation resulted in confusion, preventing many candidates from entering their designated venues.
In Chennai, the issue was particularly evident at the DG Vaishnav College centre, where several aspirants were turned away due to incorrect hall information generated by the system. As the situation escalated, candidates gathered outside the venue in protest, prompting officials to suspend the examination midway.
TNPSC later clarified that the disruption stemmed from an automation-related error that led to improper allocation of exam halls. In response, the commission decided to cancel the examination entirely to ensure fairness for all candidates.
While the main examination has been postponed, revised dates have not yet been announced. The commission has advised candidates to rely on official communication channels for further updates.
The sudden cancellation has caused significant inconvenience for aspirants who had spent months preparing for the highly competitive test. TNPSC is expected to release additional details and a new schedule in the coming days.
