Applicants who have studied through regular, full-time, and formal education with English as one of the subjects are eligible to apply.

Students who have appeared for their 10+2 / HSC examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply, provided they submit their passing certificate by the notified date.

The applicant should be a Resident Indian National.

Foreign/OCI/PIO/NRI candidates are requested to apply through the designated category application - https://vit.ac.in/admissions/international/overview and are restricted to apply under the General Category.
Age Limit

Applicants born on or after 01/07/2006 are eligible to apply for UG Science and Humanities programme for the academic year 2026-27.

Applicants must submit the age proof (birth certificate/passport copy) as proof of their age during counselling/admission. Failure to do so will result in disqualification from the admission process.
Qualifying Examination
Candidates applying for UG Science and Humanities programme should have either completed or shall be appearing in any one of the following qualifying examinations in 2026:

The final examination of the 10+2 / HSC system, conducted by any recognized Central/ State Board, such as the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations or any other Board accepted by VIT as equivalent to 10+2 / HSC examination.

Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.

General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge) at the Advanced (A) level.

High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University/Pearson Edexcel regulated by UK.

High School Certificate Examination of the International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.

Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with minimum of 5 subjects as recognized by central board.
Candidates who have appeared for multiple board examinations in the same academic year are not eligible.

In case of applicants belonging to SC/ST community or applicants hailing from Jammu and Kashmir / Ladakh and the North Eastern States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura,
10% relaxation is provided. Certificate to prove community / nativity should be produced at the time of counselling, failing which they will not be considered for admission.
