Admission to Executive M.Tech. Program in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, 2026-27

About the Program:
IIIT Kalyani invites applications for admission to the Executive M.Tech. program on Artificial Intelligence and Data Science for the Autumn Semester commencing from July 2026. The course is designed for working professionals and is spread over 6–8 semesters, covering highly relevant theory subjects, laboratories, and projects, along with a flexible credit-loading policy. The course aims to cater to the requirement of manpower, trained in this emerging area. The program has been designed to prepare the candidates to take challenges in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Security, Visual Information Processing, Internet of Things, and Blockchain in the IT industry. It will allow professionals to pursue the program in a part-time mode as off-campus students. The program will be conducted by the faculty of IIIT Kalyani as well as industry experts and managed by the Continuing Education Programme (CEP) Cell, IIIT Kalyani.

Course Structure:

• A self-paced program of 62 credits (choice based).
• The credits can be earned over 3 to 4 years.
• Theory coursework: 27 credits.
• Laboratory: 08 credits.
• Dissertation: 24 credits.
• Comprehensive Viva: 03 credits.
• Projects in last two semesters, 12 credits each. The students will have the option of taking lesser number of courses in a semester and complete the total credit requirement in 3 to 4 years.
• Projects can be taken only after all the credits of the core courses are earned.

Features of the Program:

• Classes will be conducted on the weekends.
• Research oriented course structure focusing industry needs.
• Online mode of teaching with introduction of case studies, simulations and virtual labs.
• Learners to be introduced to real-world problems.
• Flexibility like course-break (up-to one year).
• Individual certificates for each subject cleared and an Executive M.Tech. degree on clearing all 62 credits.

Intake:
Thirty (30) per year.

Eligibility:
B.Tech. / B.E. / M.Sc. / 4-year BS (CS / IT / ECE / EE or related disciplines) / MCA.

Application & Selection Procedure:
Candidates must fill the application form available at https://iiitkalyani.ac.in . The filled hardcopy application, along with necessary documents and online transaction proof corresponding to the application fee should reach the address mentioned below within the due date in an A4 Size Envelope by Speed Post. The envelope shall be superscripted: “Application for admission to the Executive M.Tech. program in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.”

Fee Structure:
For successful completion of the program, a student has to earn 62 credits in total as noted earlier. The fee structure will have two components:

• Registration Fee: INR 10,000/- per semester to keep the enrollment active.
• Course Fee: INR 5,000/- per theory credit registration and INR 3,000/- per sessional / project credit registration. For example, in a semester, if a student registers for C1 theory credits and C2 sessional / project credits then the candidate has to pay INR (5,000/- × C1 + 3,000/- × C2 + 10,000/-) in that semester.
