The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has advised teachers responsible for checking Class 10 and Class 12 board examination answer sheets to refrain from discussing the evaluation process on social media platforms.
On Monday, the board issued a notice after observing that some evaluators were sharing remarks, personal experiences, and opinions about the marking process online. According to officials, such posts could lead to misunderstanding among students and parents and may spread incorrect information.
CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj stated that the evaluation of board examination papers is a confidential task and teachers assigned to it must strictly follow the rules and professional standards set by the board.
He noted that the board had come across several social media posts made by individuals involved in evaluating Class 10 and Class 12 answer sheets. Some of these posts, he said, contained inaccurate or misleading information that could generate unnecessary rumours or confusion among stakeholders.
The board emphasized that details related to the checking of answer sheets, marking patterns, or internal discussions during evaluation must not be shared publicly.
CBSE officials explained that the answer sheet evaluation process is conducted through a well-defined system with specific procedures. Teachers selected as evaluators are expected to maintain confidentiality and follow ethical guidelines throughout the process.
The board warned that publishing comments or personal experiences about evaluation on social media could be considered a breach of regulations. If such posts are found to mislead the public or harm the integrity of the examination process, disciplinary or legal action may be taken.
Officials also advised teachers to avoid sharing content that might give a wrong impression about how answer sheets are assessed or encourage speculation about the evaluation system.
The advisory comes while the assessment of Class 10 and Class 12 board exam answer sheets is currently taking place at multiple centres across the country.
Each year, CBSE organizes board examinations for millions of students and depends on a large network of teachers to evaluate answer scripts. The board stated that keeping the evaluation process confidential is crucial to maintaining the credibility and fairness of the examination system.
Teachers involved in the process have therefore been urged to use social media responsibly and ensure that no sensitive or internal information related to the exams is disclosed online.
