CBSE has decided to postpone the portal launch to allow additional improvements to the online platform. The board stated that the extra time will help ensure a smooth, transparent, and reliable experience for students applying for post-result services.
Students requiring assistance can contact the CBSE Tele-Counseling Helpline at 1800 11 8004 or send their queries via email to resultcbse2026@cbseshiksha.in.
Only candidates who have already obtained scanned copies of their evaluated answer books will be eligible to apply for verification and re-evaluation through the portal.
The reopening of the portal marks the next phase of CBSE's post-result review process under the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system.
Students can identify specific questions where they believe marks may have been incorrectly awarded and submit objections on a question-by-question basis. Subject experts will reassess only the challenged responses. If any discrepancy is found, marks may be revised and updated results will be communicated to the student.
Candidates should compare their responses with the official marking scheme available on the CBSE website before submitting a request.
| Service | Fee |
|---|---|
| Verification of Marks | Rs. 500 per answer book |
| Re-evaluation | Rs. 100 per question |
The revised review process follows concerns raised by some students and teachers after the 2026 Class 12 examinations were evaluated entirely through the expanded On-Screen Marking system.
To improve accessibility and confidence in the review mechanism, CBSE and the Ministry of Education previously announced significant fee reductions and assured students that charges would be refunded if their marks increased after review.
Under the previous system, students first applied for verification and later received copies of their answer books. The current OSM-based process starts with candidates obtaining scanned copies of their evaluated scripts.
After reviewing these copies alongside the official marking scheme, students can identify discrepancies and submit question-specific objections for expert reassessment.
The introduction of On-Screen Marking has sparked debate following a decline in the Class 12 pass percentage. The pass rate fell from 88.39% in 2025 to 85.20% in 2026, marking the largest drop in seven years.
While some students and educators questioned whether the new system affected marking standards, CBSE and Education Ministry officials have maintained that evaluations were conducted entirely by trained teachers without the use of artificial intelligence.
Approximately 77,000 teachers participated in the evaluation process after receiving extensive training, according to CBSE officials.
Despite the debate, the board has indicated that the digital evaluation framework is expected to remain part of future examinations.
CBSE is expected to keep the verification and re-evaluation portal open for at least two days after the final scanned copy of an evaluated answer book becomes available to eligible applicants.
