The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has stated that a notice circulating online about the rescheduling of the Class 12 English board examination in several Middle Eastern countries is not genuine. According to the board, the document spreading on social media platforms is fabricated, and students, parents, and schools have been advised to rely only on official updates released by CBSE.
The misleading notice, widely shared on platforms such as Twitter and WhatsApp, claims that several CBSE examinations, including the Class 12 English paper, have been postponed for students in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. Because the document appears formal and falsely attributes the message to the CBSE Controller of Examinations, it created confusion among students and parents shortly before the scheduled exams.
CBSE officials confirmed that the circular being circulated online did not originate from the board. They stressed that no decision has been made to reschedule the Class 12 English examination or any other CBSE exam in the Middle East based on the claims in the viral message.
The board has advised students, parents, and school authorities to ignore such misleading messages and avoid forwarding unverified information that could cause confusion during the ongoing board examinations. It also recommended checking updates only through official announcements on the CBSE website or other verified communication channels.
Although the viral circular is fake, some examination adjustments have taken place in the Middle East. CBSE has postponed a few Class 10 and Class 12 exams in the region due to security concerns linked to tensions between Iran and Israel. In addition, some Class 10 papers have been cancelled.
Schools affiliated with CBSE in the affected countries have already been informed through official circulars issued by the board. CBSE has also indicated that new dates for the postponed examinations will be announced later, and further updates will be shared through official notifications and direct communication with affiliated schools.
