Admission to Post Graduate Programs like MBA, MCA, M.E., M.Tech. and M.Arch in Karnataka 2025

Admission to 1st year / 1st semester full time / part time MBA / MCA / M.E. / M.Tech. courses for Karnataka and non-Karnataka candidates for the year 2025.

Candidates have to register for PGCET-2025 from their DigiLocker Account and submit the online application. Online application is application-cum-verification module and there will be no physical verification. The student entries pertaining to school study, Kannada medium, caste, income, Kalyana Karnataka etc. will be verified through SATS / Revenue department web service. The candidates are advised to fill all the details carefully by obtaining the necessary documents.

KEA will not conduct PGCET-2025 examination for admission to M.Architecture Course. For admission to M.Architecture courses, candidates should qualify in PGETA-2025 conducted by Council of Architecture. Candidates must compulsorily register for PGCET-2025, fill the application and pay the fees to become eligible to participate in the KEA counselling.

- The above schedule may be revised. Any change in schedule will be notified on the http://kea.kar.nic.in.

- Only after confirmation of receipt of payment of fees, candidates will be permitted to download the Admission Tickets for PGCET-2025 exam.
Stages to enter the Application Online
With respect to Karnataka students, online application is application-cum-verification module; entries pertaining to school study will be verified through SATS number and Caste, Income, Kalyana Karnataka etc will be verified through RD Number from Revenue department web service. The candidates are advised to fill the correct SATS number RD Number wherever it is applicable.
  • Registration
    • Select the link in the KEA Website for PGCET-2025 registration.
    • Select the New User, Login by using your DigiLocker Account.
    • Complete the registration details.
    • USER ID / Application will be sent to registered mobile number.
    • Login with USER ID and password, to enter the application details.
  • Application Entry
    • Login by using the USER ID and Password.
    • Complete the online application stage by stage, verify and save.
    • Select the declaration and complete the process. Before selecting the declaration verify the entries.
    • Declare and complete, if no changes are required.
    • Pay the fees. For each course, Rs. 700/-.
    • Take the final print out. Logout.
The candidates who do not satisfy any of the eligibility clauses will be treated as non-Karnataka candidates and such candidates are eligible to select ONLY the seats surrendered by the management, if any, for admission to MBA / MCA courses.
Mode of conducting the Test
In order to obtain admission to MBA, MCA, M.E. / M.Tech. courses through KEA, a candidate must appear for the Post Graduate Common Entrance Test-2025, which will be conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore (Herein after referred to as KEA). The Post Graduate Common Entrance Test - 2025 will be conducted in specified places, spread over Karnataka. The details of the written test are as follows:

Who can Apply?
  • For MBA
    • For Full Time MBA courses:
      A candidate who has passed Recognised Bachelor’s Degree of minimum of 3 years duration examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects including languages in all the years / semesters of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to MBA courses. (45% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka candidates) (Reservation is applicable only for Karnataka Candidates).
    • For Part Time MBA courses:
      A candidate who has passed recognized Bachelor's Degree of minimum of 3 years duration examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects including languages in all the years /semesters of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to Part Time MBA courses (45% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka candidates). (Reservation is applicable only for Karnataka Candidates). In addition to this a candidate after obtaining the degree, must have worked for not less than three years as on 31st July 2025, in an establishment and must be working in an organization situated within a radial distance of 40 km from the institution in which the candidate seeks admission.
    NOTE: Rounding off aggregate percent is not permitted.
  • For MCA
    A candidate who has passed any recognized BCA / Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent Degree
    OR
    Passed B.Sc. / B.Com. / B.A. with Mathematics at 10 + 2 level or at Graduation level (with additional bridge courses as per the norms of the concerned University) and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects in all the years / semesters of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to MCA courses. 45% of marks in Q.E. in case of SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka candidates.

    NOTE: Rounding off aggregate percent is not permitted.

    - No Part Time courses are offered for MCA.
    - As per AICTE Approval Process Handbook-2022 and letter from Registrar, VTU, Belgaum dated 11-06-2022, henceforth there is no lateral entry admission to MCA course.
  • For M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Arch.
    • For Full Time M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Arch. Course
      - A candidate with valid GATE score.
      - A candidate who has passed qualifying examination or equivalent examination as prescribed by the Competent Authority and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects of all the years / semesters of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Arch. courses (45% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Category-I candidates. (Reservation is applicable only for Karnataka Candidates)
    • For Part Time M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Arch. Courses
      A candidate who has passed prescribed qualifying examination or equivalent examination as prescribed by the Competent Authority and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects of all the years / semesters of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to M.E. / M.Tech / M.Arch courses (45% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Category-I Karnataka candidates) (Reservation is applicable only for Karnataka Candidates) In addition to this candidate after obtaining the complete degree, must have worked for not less than three years as on 31st July 2025, in an establishment and must be working in an organization situated within a radial distance of 40 km from the institution in which the candidate seeks admission. However, the employer has to fill up the NOC duly signed by the competent authority.
    NOTE: Rounding off aggregate percent is not permitted.
NOTE: Post Graduate M.E. / M.Tech / M.Arch Courses in Engineering and Technology will be of the following categories:
  • Full-Time M.E. / M.Tech / M.Arch (Two academic years consisting of four semesters)
  • Part-Time M.Tech (Three academic years consisting of six semesters)
  • Full-Time MBA (Infrastructure Management) (Two academic years consisting of four semesters) A candidate can opt for M.E. / M.Tech / M.Arch course either under (i) Full-Time or (ii) Part-Time category and one cannot apply for both the programs.
