Important Information for Counseling and Admission to different degree programmes 2025-26

• Self-verification and correction in the entries of online Application Form will be till the last date of its submission (except Name, User Name, e-mail Id, Phone Number, Aadhaar Number, Caste).
• After publication of the merit list any change in the marks of the final transcript shall not be entertained.
• No change in marks in the final Mark Sheet of a candidate will be considered after publication of Provisional Merit list.
• Details of Counseling and Admission process is given in admission portal. Applicants are advised to follow regularly their registered e-mail ID for checking the process of online counseling.
• The counseling and admission will be guided by the West Bengal State Higher Educational Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Rules, 2013.
• Admission of a candidate will be cancelled if the student is found absent from classes for seven consecutive days from the date of commencement of classes and admission against such vacancies will announced by the Central Admission Committee during subsequent counseling.
• The information about cancellation of an admitted candidate for his / her long absence or any other reason will be communicated through e-mail from the office of the Deputy Registrar on the day of taking such decision.
• Hostel accommodation will be made from the office of the Dean Students’ Welfare (DSW) for limited available seats for each Faculty/College on the basis of aerial distance from the permanent residence of the candidate to the Faculty/College provided they apply for hostel accommodation and confirmation will be communicated through SMS or e-mail after admission to be Degree programme.
• Foreign students will be admitted following University Guidelines only.
• ICAR sponsored candidates must attend classes within 15 days from the start of classes.
• All types of communication regarding admission, start of class, class attendance, station leave, etc. for the admitted students must be addressed (hard copy only) to the concerned Dean of the Faculty and/ or Associate Dean, College of Agriculture, Majhian (as the case may be) with a copy to the Deputy Registrar, positively till the completion of the admission process.
• Validity of Other Backward Class Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) Certificate**
  A candidate applying against OBC-A/OBC-B category (wherever applicable) must produce an OBC certificate in the prescribed format (available in the University website) issued by the competent authority not earlier than 1st April of previous year (2024) with respect to the year in which admission is sought (see illustration below) and not later than the date of application for admission.
  
  The certificate must clearly indicate (i) the category (OBC-A or OBC-B) he/she belongs to; (ii) that he/she does not belong to creamy layer of the society. Without submission of such an appropriate certificate, the applicant shall not be considered for seats reserved for OBC-A/OBC-B category. But they may be considered as General category candidate.
  
  Illustration: If the admission is sought in the year 2025 for academic session 2025-26, the certificate must be issued on or after 1st April, 2024 and before the date of application.
• Candidates, whose OBC-A/OBC-B certificates had been issued before the date as stated above, must produce a ratification certificate from the competent authority within the state of West Bengal stating that they do not belong to the creamy layer as on the date of the application, along with the copy of previous certificate.
• Candidates belonging to Persons with Disability (PWD) category will be required to pay the requisite amount of seat booking fees for accepting the offered seat. The seat booking fees shall be refunded to such candidate after completion of the first semester. Such candidates must apply for refund to the Registrar through Chairman, Admission Committee in a prescribed format (available in the University website).
• For the applicants from Vocational Board (WBSCVET) Only:
• For New Syllabus, Vocational Papers should be from Cultivations of Fruits & Vegetables/Horticulture/ Crop Management / Plant Management subjects related to Agriculture and Horticulture (FVPR / FRGR/ VGGR / PNMP / SMAG / CRNM / SPPR /JPPE /FMOP / FCPR only).
• The decision of the Central Admission Committee in the matter of selection of candidates for admission shall be final.
• Admission of PWD category candidates will be subject to the fitness certificate issued by the Medical Officer of the University.
• Any dispute relating to the admission shall be settled within the jurisdiction of Coochbehar, West Bengal.

The University reserves the rights not to admit any candidate if so decided by the Central Admission Committee for any wrong information / photograph/ scanned certificates/mark sheets submitted in online Application Form or any other reason.
