47^th All India Student Design Competition 2016

National Design and Research Foundation (NDRF) invites entries for the 47 All India Student Design Competition - 2016.

THE DISCIPLINES COVERED UNDER THE DESIGN COMPETITION ARE :

1.  Aerospace Engineering 2.  Agricultural Engineering 3.  Architectural Engineering 4.  Chemical Engineering 5.  Civil Engineering 6.  Computer Engineering 7.  Electrical Engineering 8.  Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

9.  Environmental Engineering 10.  Marine Engineering 11.  Mechanical Engineering 12.  Metallurgical and Materials Engineering 13.  Mining Engineering 14.  Production Engineering 15.  Textile Engineering

Three Prizes are being awarded in each of the fifteen disciplines, adjudged best in order of merit, and to be decided by a Panel of Judges.

THE PRIZES WOULD BE :

FIRST PRIZE	:	Gold Medal
SECOND PRIZE	:	Silver Medal
THIRD PRIZE	:	Bronze Medal
Besides these Prizes, winners will also receive a Certificate of Appreciation.

ELIGIBILITY :

The Competition is open to the Final and Pre-Final year students of B.E. / B.Tech. / M.E. / M.Tech. / M.S. or equivalent courses in Engineering from Indian Universities, IITs, IISc and also for the Senior Technician/Technician Members of IEI, who have passed the AMIE Examination. This Competition is intended to give students an opportunity to exhibit their individual engineering skills and talents and there by earn recognition, while promoting Engineering Design and Research in the country.

Participants are requested to see overleaf material regarding details of entry conditions to be complied with. The entries with complete details should reach NDRF on or before th 20 August 2016.

GENERAL CONDITIONS OF ENTRY :

• The competition is for individual students only. No Joint entries are permitted.
• Students may submit any design, which is done either as a part of the program of his/her engineering studies or a design specially worked out for the competition. If a team of students have jointly done a project, the Principal/HOD should certify (Certificate of Authenticity) the role played by the student entering the competition and an account of approximate percentage of his/her contribution in the entire design project.
• There is no entry fee what so ever.
• Each student can participate only in any one discipline.
• The design project for the competition must not exceed 20 pages of standard A4 size (single side). The design project must contain description about the design, brief history of the existing technology and improvements proposed and the conclusions.
• If, in the opinion of judges, there are not sufficient number of entries or if the entries do not measure up to the required standards, NDRF reserves the right to alter the prizes or to combine and divide the prizes in any manner it deems fit.
• The competitors are required to submit a signed declaration stating that the design project for the competition is entirely their own and also completely fill the Participant Detail Form provided.
• The Awardees will be intimated about the Date and Venue of the Award Presentation.
• The entries for the Competition must be sent to The Director, National Design and Research Foundation, The Institution of Engineers (I), No. 3, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Veedhi, Bangalore - 560 001 by registered post or personally handed over at NDRF office with due acknowledgment.
• Records and Drawings submitted at the time of entry will not be returned.
• In all cases, the decision of the National Design and Research Forum would be final and binding on all the participants.
• Please superscribe on the envelope "47 All India Student Design Competition - 2016 in the ................................................................................. Discipline".
• No interim correspondence or telephonic conversation will be entertained.
• Last date for receiving the entries is 20 August 2016.
