PG Admission (Session 2025-26)
M.A. in Urdu, M.Com., M.A. in English, and M.Sc. in Geography

The Postgraduate Admission Portal of Bhairab Ganguly College will remain open from August 8 to August 20, 2025 for submission of applications to the following postgraduate programmes:

• M.A. in Urdu (2 Years)
• M.Com. (2 Years)
• M.A. in English (2 Years)
• M.Sc. in Geography (2 Years)

There will be no application fee for online submissions. Interested candidates are requested to visit the PG Admission section on the college's official website to apply. The Merit Lists for these four courses will be published on August 25, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria:

• 1. M.Com. (Commerce): Minimum 40% marks in B.Com. (Honours)
• 2. M.A. in Urdu: Minimum 40% marks in B.A. (Honours) in Urdu
• 3. M.A. in English: Minimum 40% marks in B.A. (Honours) in English
• 4. M.Sc. in Geography: 40% marks in B.A./B.Sc. (Honours) in Geography

Who Can Apply:

• Candidates who have completed their Honours degree under the 10+2+3 system or an equivalent examination from a UGC-recognized university are eligible to apply.
• Applicants from recognized universities in West Bengal or other states of India (from the years 2024/2023) are eligible for admission.
• As per the W.B. Govt. Higher Education Department's Memo No. 986-Edn(U)/HED-12016(21)/5/2025-UNV SEC-Dept. of HE dated 01.08.2025, the seat distribution will be as follows: 80% of seats are reserved for students from West Bengal State University (Home University), and 20% of seats are reserved for students from other universities.
• Selection will be based strictly on merit.
• Reservations for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PWD/EWS candidates will be as per government norms and Subject to the outcome of pending legal proceedings.
• Admission to the different categories is subject to the final verdict of the court pertaining to this matter, order/s issued (if any) by BCW, Govt. of West Bengal and pertinent certificate produced by the candidate.
• Payment of Fees: The admission fee must be paid through Debit Card or Internet Banking only. Credit Card payments are not accepted.
