Application for Admission to M.A (English) 2025

i) The application form will be available in college website (www.spcmc.ac.in).
ii) No Application Fee will be charged for submission of Application Form.
iii) Application forms will be available online from 10:00 AM on 08/08/2025 and the last date of submission of online forms is 20/08/2025 till 11:59 PM.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The candidate must be a graduate from any UGC - recognized University with Honours marks in English.
Candidates graduating in 2025 or 2024 are eligible. Candidates graduating earlier than 2024 are NOT eligible.
Application forms should be filled with due care and attention. Any incorrect or false data will result in rejection of the application.
All admission will be done strictly on the basis of merit. There will be no counselling or physical verification of documents during the process of admission. The candidates need not be physically present in the College during the admission procedure
The physical verification of documents, if required, will be conducted later on, depending upon favourable situation and a notice for that will be given in the College website. If, during this verification, any discrepancy is found, the candidate’s admission is liable to be cancelled.
The ratio of Home University (Calcutta University) students to the other universities shall be 80:20
Payment of Admission fees should be done only through electronic mode as specified in the College website in due course. Candidates need not require coming physically to the College for payment of fees.
A Valid List of the Applicants will be available on the website on 22/08/2025 at 3 PM.
Last date of challenging list of valid applicants is 23/08/2025 till 5 PM.
The date of publication of final list and first merit list is 25/08/2025 at 10 AM.
Admission from first merit list will start on 26/082025 from 10 AM
Classes of first semester PG programmes will commence from 01/09/2025
Each applicant is required to upload the following documents along with the application form

Age Proof (Admit card of Madhyamik or equivalent examination or Birth certificate)
Identity proof – Aadhar card
Caste Certificate – SC/ST/OBC (Candidate with valid SC/ST certificate of State WB will only be considered)
Christian candidate needs to produce Baptism certificate and a letter of recommendation from Priest Christian candidate needs to produce Baptism certificate and a letter of recommendation from Priest
Marksheets of all six semesters along with the CGPA score
Marksheets of all BA Annual Examination if candidate has appeared from non CBCS curriculum.
Mark sheet of Higher Secondary or equivalent examination

All stake holders should adhere to COVID – 19 norms / protocol, issued by the Government from time to time.

Refund of permissible fees will be given to candidates who cancel their admission within the 30th November 2025. No such request will be entertained beyond this date.
