Minimum marks for admission to the unreserved seats in all M.A./M.Sc./M.Com. Course of Studies under Faculty Councils of Science & Arts is 50% at the Honours level in the concerned/relevant subject (As per Course/Program wise Qualifying Bachelor Degree, mentioned in the Point No.-7)from a UGC recognised University. For candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/DA/SP/EWS categories, eligibility is minimum of 45% marks in honours in the concerned/relevant subject (As per Course/Program wise Qualifying Bachelor Degree, mentioned in the
Point No. 7).
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION TO PG COURSE OF OTHER SUBJECTS:

M.Ed. (Fresher): B.Ed./B.A. B.Ed./B.Sc. B.Ed./B.El.Ed. Course with a minimum of 50% marks or Undergraduate Degree and D.El.Ed. with 50% marks in each from a UGC recognised University.

M.Ed. (Deputed): Deputed candidates with minimum 50% marks at B.Ed./B.Ed. (Sc.) from any NCTE recognized Institutions are eligible to apply. Selection of deputed candidates will be made on calculation of their length of approved service only. In case of the uniformity in the length of service, the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the B.Ed./B.Ed. (Sc.) Degree is to be considered and calculated for determining the higher position in the merit list. In case of the uniform score in the concerned B.Ed. Degree, the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in H.S Examination is to be considered and calculated for determining the higher position in the merit. At the time of admission, deputed candidates will have to produce the RELEASE ORDER from their employer, permitting them to prosecute the course of studies on full-time basis failing which their selection shall be cancelled.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION TO PG COURSE OF STUDIES IN DIFFERENT MULTIDISCIPLINARY SUBJECTS:

Women's Studies: Honours Graduates of any UGC recognized University who have done the three-year Hons. Course in History, Pol. Sc., Philosophy, Sociology, Economics and Languages with minimum 50% marks.

MLIS: Honours Graduates of any UGC recognized University who have done the three-year Hons. Course/LLB/BBA/BCA/B.E./B.Tech./B.Pharm./MBBS etc. with a minimum of 50% marks.

Mass Communication: Honours Graduates of any UGC recognized University who have done the three-year Hons. Course/LLB/BBA/BCA/B.E./B.Tech./B.Pharm./MBBS etc. with a minimum of 50% marks.

Master of Social Work (MSW): Honours Graduates of any UGC recognized University who have done the three-year Hons. Course/LLB/BBA/BCA/B.E./B.Tech./B.Pharm./MBBS etc. with a minimum of 50% marks.

MBA Programmes [MBA, MBA (Tourism), MBA (HR)]: Honours Graduates of any UGC recognized University who have done the three-year Hons. Course/LLB/BBA/BCA/B.E./B.Tech./B.Pharm./MBBS etc. with a minimum of 50% marks. All applicants must have to appear in Virtual Interaction Round (VIR) (25 marks) scheduled to be held on 12th and 13th September, 2025. Please visit the university website for further details.

Candidates who have a valid score of CAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, MAT, GMAT and JEMAT must upload the score card in the online application portal.
OTHER THAN MULTIDISCIPLINARY SUBJECTS
80% of the total Intake for Pass outs of B.U. Students
80% of the total intake of seats will be reserved exclusively for the pass-outs from the Under Graduate Colleges affiliated to the University of Burdwan. Admission to these seats will be offered strictly on the basis of Grade Points to be calculated by adding 60% of Percentage marks (based on Honours/Major Subject only) obtained in the Qualifying Bachelor Degree with 20% of Percentage marks (based on the marks of the best 04 (four) subjects: Full marks 100 each) obtained in the HS or equivalent examinations' and 20% of Percentage marks (based on the marks of the best 05 (five) subjects: Full marks 100 each) obtained in the Madhyamik or equivalent examinations'. In case of the equal Grade Points, the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in Honours/ Major subject is to be considered and calculated for determining the higher position in the merit list. In case of the uniform score in the concerned Honours/Major subject, the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in Higher Secondary Examination is to be considered and calculated for determining the higher position in the merit list. If the percentage of Higher Secondary marks is also being the same, percentage of Secondary Examination will be considered for ranking. If, at all these stages, performances of more than one student are found to be same, then final decision regarding selection of candidate will be referred to Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, BU.
20% of total Intake for Pass outs of Other University Students
Remaining 20% of the seats will be filled up on the basis of Grade Points to be calculated by adding 60% of Percentage marks (based on Honours/ Major Subject only) obtained in the Qualifying Bachelor Degree with 20% of Percentage marks (based on the marks of the best 04 (four) subjects: Full marks 100 each) obtained in the HS or equivalent examinations' and 20% of Percentage marks (based on the marks of the best 05 (five) subjects: Full marks 100 each) obtained in the Madhyamik or equivalent examinations' from the applicants from Universities other than The University of Burdwan. In case of the equal Grade Points, the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in Honours/Major subject is to be considered and calculated for determining the higher position in the merit list. In case of the uniform score in the concerned Honours/Major subject, the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in Higher Secondary Examination is to be considered and calculated for determining the higher position in the merit list. If the percentage of Higher Secondary marks is also being the same, percentage of Secondary Examination will be considered for ranking. If, at all these stages, performances of more than one student are found to be same, then final decision regarding selection of candidate will be referred to Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, BU.
FOR MULTIDISCIPLINARY SUBJECTS
Seats in the multidisciplinary subject seats will be filled up on the basis of Grade Points. Multidisciplinary subject other than MBA Programmes, the Grade Points to be calculated by adding 60% of Percentage marks (based on Honours/Major Subject only) obtained in the Qualifying Bachelor Degree with 20% of Percentage marks (based on the marks of the best 04 (four) subjects: Full marks 100 each) obtained in the HS or equivalent examinations' and 20% of Percentage marks (based on the marks of the best 05 (five) subjects: Full marks 100 each) obtained in the Madhyamik or equivalent examinations'. For MBA Programmes, the Grade Points to be calculated by adding 40% of Percentage marks (based on Honours/Major Subject only) obtained in the Qualifying Bachelor Degree with 15% of Percentage marks (based on the marks of the best 04 (four) subjects: Full marks 100 each) obtained in the 12th Standard Examination with15% of Percentage marks (based on the marks of the best 05 (five) subjects: Full marks 100 each) obtained in the 10th Standard Examination and 10% of percentage/percentile score of CAT/XAT/CMAT/ATMA/MAT/GMAT/JEMAT and 20% of Virtual Interaction Round (VIR). In case of the equal Grade Points, the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in Honours/Major subject is to be considered and calculated for determining the higher position in the merit list. In case of the uniform score in the concerned Honours/Major subject, the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in Higher Secondary Examination is to be considered and calculated for determining the higher position in the merit list. If the percentage of Higher Secondary marks is also being the same, percentage of Secondary Examination will be considered for ranking. If, at all these stages, performances of more than one student are found to be same, then final decision regarding selection of candidate will be referred to Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, BU.
