Instructions for Counseling (Phase-1) for Admission to 3-Year LL.B. (Hons.) Session: 2025-2027
(BCI Session: 2024-2025)
The counseling (Phase–1) for admission to 3-Yr. LL.B.(H) Course of Studies for the Session: 2025-2027
(BCI Session: 2024-2025) in 1) Burdwan University Campus, Burdwan, 2) Government Centre of Legal
Education (formerly Hooghly Mohsin college), 3) Bengal Law College, Shantiniketan, Bolpur, Birbhum, 4)
Amex Law College, Burdwan and 5) George School of Law, Konnagar, Hooghly, as per the Provisional
Broad Merit (Rank) list, will be held on 24.11.2025 & 25.11.2025 through Online mode via Google Meet.
All the eligible candidates as per the Serial Nos. mentioned below, who have applied for admission to the
3-Yr. LL.B.(H) Course of Studies for the Session: 2025-2027 (BCI Session: 2024-2025) offered by multiple
centres of learning under the Faculty Council (Arts), are asked to attend the Counselling positively as per
the following schedule:

The Candidates are advised to join 15 minutes prior to the commencement of slot wise counselling.
The candidates should take note of the following instructions:

Provisional admission shall be made strictly based on merit.

The Provisional Merit (Rank) List is a system generated List without actual document verification.
Candidates are, therefore, requested to verify their eligibility in accordance with the criteria as
prescribed in the Information Brochure of the 3 Year LL.B. (Honours) Admission 2025-2027 (BCI
Session: 2024-2025), published on the University Website.

ALL ADMISSION IS PROVISIONAL. Mere selection of candidates and payment of admission fees do
not ensure confirmation of admission unless the eligibility of the candidates is checked, and original
credentials are found in order at the time of verification of documents. If a candidate is found, before
or after admission, not having the minimum eligibility of admission, then the university will have the
right to cancel his/her admission. The University also reserves all the rights to drop or to include any
name, if any suppression of facts on the part of the students or any mistake on the part of the
University or any error in the system-generated data is detected at any stage before or after the
admission.

In case, a candidate does not fulfil the eligibility and merit criteria, he/she is requested not to proceed
with the subsequent steps since the admission will not be confirmed.

ADMISSION OF CANDIDATES WILL BE CONFIRMED ONLY AFTER PAYMENT OF ADMISSION FEES &
AFTER DOCUMENT VERIFICATION.

At the time of counseling all the candidates must keep ready their academic and other credentials in
original.

The University reserves the right to rectify the list of candidates selected for admission in the event of
detection of any error, before or after payment of admission fees including cancellation of admission.

As per the directives of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, it is notified that if any incident of ragging
comes to the notice of the authority, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if his
explanation is not found satisfactory, the authority would expel him from the institution.

The candidates who will be provisionally selected for B.U. Campus have to Pay Rs. 3485/- (Rupees
three thousand four hundred eighty-five only) as admission fees through online via Student
Dashboard on and from 26.11.2025 to 28.11.2025. No communication in this regard will be
entertained after the expiry of payment period.
The candidates who will be provisionally selected for Government Centre of Legal Education
(formerly Hooghly Mohasin college), Bengal Law College, Amex Law College & George School of Law
will have to take admission to the College concerned by 28.11.2025 on payment of requisite
admission fees as fixed by the college, otherwise his/her candidature will be treated cancelled.
In case of any issue / problem regarding payment / confirmation of admission status, candidates
should contact immediately and definitely before the expiry of the stipulated period (email:
secretary_arts@buruniv.ac.in or Call / WhatsApp to 9475509303). No communication in this regard
will be entertained after the expiry of the period. University will not take the responsibility of any
payment failure caused due to network / technical problems.

Options for Centre of Learning, once exercised, cannot be changed. Every candidate will
have the right to “Decline” to get admission in a particular college if he/she is not interested to pursue
the course in the said college. After booking a seat during Counselling, if a candidate does not take
admission, his/her candidature will be treated cancelled, and he/she will not be considered for
Admission later.

In case, a candidate is unable to attend the Counselling, his/her authorised representative may attend.
If any candidate or his/her authorized representative fails to attend the counselling as per announced
scheduled, he/she will not be considered for admission at the later stage.

Non-payment of admission fees by the selected candidates shall amount to cancellation of his/her
candidature and in such context, they will be debarred from the admission process.

Mere mention of any rank in the Counselling Schedule and / or mere participation in the counseling do
not ensure seats for the candidates.

The University reserves the right to include/exclude any name of the candidate if any suppression of
fact(s) on the part of the candidate or any mistake in calculating the marks/rank is detected at any
stage.

CLASSES FOR THE AFOREMENTIONED PROGRAM WILL COMMENCE FROM 01.12.2025.

ADMISSION OF CANDIDATES WILL BE CONFIRMED ONLY AFTER DOCUMENT VERIFICATION, which
will be carried out by the concerned Department / Centre of Studies on and from 01.12.2025 to
02.12.2025 for confirmation of admission. All the selected candidates who have successfully paid the
admission fees will have to produce and submit self-attested photocopies of Application Form along
with all testimonials including the relevant certificates and final UG mark sheet on the date of
document verification, failing which their admission to 3 Yr. LL.B.(H) Course of Studies for the session
2025-2027 (BCI Session: 2024-2025) will be cancelled. All eligibility criteria will be checked during
document verification. If, at the time of document verification, the marks obtained by the candidate
don’t match with the marks shown in the merit list, the admission of the candidate is liable to be
cancelled. In case, a candidate is unable to attend in the Document Verification, he/she should send
his/her authorised representative for the same. If any candidate or his/her authorized representative
fails to turn up on the date of Document Verification, the admission to the said course will be
cancelled.

As per the reservation rules vide Govt. Order No.: 07-Edn (U)/1U-89/13.- dated. 2nd January, 2014 “for
admission to different courses, an SC or ST candidate getting admission should have obtained in the
previous examination; qualifying marks not lower by more than 25% of the marks obtained by the
last candidate of the general category.”
