Notification and Instruction to the Candidates for Admission to PG Courses (Allocation List - Phase 3) under the Faculty Council (Science) For the Session 2025-2027

SUBJECTS: Biotechnology, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Geography, Geospatial Science, Mathematics, Microbiology, Molecular Biology & Human Genetics and Zoology

ADMISSION OF CANDIDATES WILL BE CONFIRMED ONLY AFTER DOCUMENT VERIFICATION & PAYMENT OF ADMISSION FEES

The students should take note of the following points before making payment of Admission Fees:



  • The Allocation List (Phase 3) has been prepared based on system generated data without actual document verification. Candidates are therefore directed to verify their eligibility in accordance with the criteria as prescribed in the Information Brochure of the PG Admission 2025 under Science Faculty, available in the University Website.
  • If a candidate is found, before or after admission, not having the minimum eligibility of admission, then the university will have the right to cancel his/her admission without taking responsibility of refund of his/her admission fees. The University also reserves all rights to drop or to include any name, if any suppression of facts on the part of the students or any mistake on the part of the University or any error in the system-generated data is detected at any stage before or after the admission.
  • In case a candidate does not fulfil the eligibility and merit criteria, he/she is requested not to proceed with the subsequent steps since it is likely that the admission will not be confirmed.
  • Candidates who are provisionally selected (Phase 3) at “Burdwan University Campus” must pay the requisite admission fee through the link provided in the “Access for Student Dashboard” in the Sl. No.-6. After successful payment, candidate must keep a printed copy of the Successful Payment Receipt, which needs to be produced during document verification.

    On the other hand, Candidates who are provisionally selected (Phase 2) in any Centre of Study (Affiliated College) other than “Burdwan University Campus” must confirm their admission status (“Accept and Freeze” / “Accept and Upgrade” / “Decline”) through the link provided in the “Access for Student Dashboard” in the Sl. No.-7 and keep a “Zero” Amount Payment Receipt with them. After finalizing the seat (“Accept and Freeze”), the admission fee must be paid at the respective centre of study (Affiliated College).

    No action taken in the light of the above guideline will result in cancellation of admission and removal of the candidate from the admission process.
  • Candidates of any Subject/Programme under Faculty Council Science, who will be admitted/ allotted to the “Burdwan University Campus”, will pay the Admission Fee through “Access for Student Dashboard” (As mentioned in the Sl. No. 6). On the other hand, Candidates of any Subject/Programme under Faculty Council Science, who will be finally admitted to any Centre of Studies other than “Burdwan University Campus”, will pay the Admission Fee at the Respective Study Centre (Affiliated College), which they will opt for as “Accept and Freeze” (As mentioned in the Sl. No. 7).
  • Candidates who are provisionally selected and allotted to “Burdwan University Campus” in Phase-3 on the basis of their order of preference of Centre(s) of Study, will choose one from the options defined below:
    • 'Accept & Freeze': Shall pay the total amount of Admission Fee through the student dashboard of the University for this purpose,
    • 'Accept & Upgrade': Shall also pay the total amount of Admission Fee through the payment link provided by the University for this purpose.

      In this case, if choice is upgraded in the next round and they opt for 'Accept & Freeze', such candidates will have to pay the total amount of admission fee applicable to the newly allotted Centre of study again and the previous payment will be refunded.

      If choice is not upgraded in the next/ final round, the concerned candidate must opt for 'Accept & Freeze' and they need not pay the admission fee again.
    • 'Decline': No payment of Admission Fee will be required to be made in this round. In this case, if “Burdwan University Campus” is the 1st choice in order of preference, then that candidate will not be considered in the in the subsequent round(s). If “Burdwan University Campus” is not the fast choice in order of preference, such candidates will be considered in the subsequent round(s) but will not be allotted “Burdwan University Campus” again.
  • Candidates who are provisionally selected and allotted to any Centre of Study (Affiliated college) other than “Burdwan University Campus” in Phase-3 on the basis of their of preference of Centre(s) of Study, who opt for:
    • 'Accept & Freeze': should pay the total amount of Admission Fee to the allotted Centre of Study (Affiliated college), which may or may not be the 1st choice, this candidates should submit the print out of the system generated Zero amount payment receipt to the allotted centre of study, after confirming their admission status 'Accept & Freeze ‘through the link provided in the access for student dashboard in the serial number 9.
    • 'Accept & Upgrade' (when the allotted Centre is not the 1st choice): will pay 'No Admission Fee' in this round and must confirm their admission status 'Accept & Upgrade' through the link provided in the access for student dashboard in the serial number 9 and must take a print out of the system generated ' Zero amount Payment' receipt for future reference. Such candidates will be considered in the next round(s) based on merit position.

      If choice is upgraded in the next round(s), they may opt for 'Accept & Upgrade' again and so on. In each round, such candidates must take a print out of the system generated 'Zero amount Payment' receipt for future reference and will pay the total amount of Admission Fee to that allotted Centre of Study (Affiliated college) for which they opt for 'Accept & Freeze' for finalization of payment.

      If choice is not upgraded in the next round, they must opt for 'Accept & Freeze' and will pay total amount of Admission Fee to the previously allotted Centre of Study (Affiliated college) for finalization of payment.
    • 'Decline' : no payment of Admission Fee will be made in this round. In this case, if the allotted Centre of Study is the 1st choice in order of preference, then that candidate will not be considered in the subsequent round(s).

      On the other hand, if the allotted Centre of Study is not the 1st choice in order of preference, then they will be considered in the subsequent round(s) but will not be allotted to that Centre of Study again.
  • DOCUMENT VERIFICATION for the Provisionally Selected candidates of the Allocation List (Phase-3) will be carried out by the concerned Department/Centre of Studies on and from 09.12.2025 to 10.12.2025.
  • Provisionally Selected candidates of the Allocation List (Phase-3) at Burdwan University Campus can get access to payment by logging in into the dashboard of the admission portal of The University of Burdwan by putting their Application Sequence Number and password through the following link from 13.12.2025 and 14.12.2025: Access for Student Dashboard
  • Provisionally selected candidates of the Provisional Allocation List (Phase-3) in any centre of Study (Affiliated college) other than Burdwan University Campus (can get access to confirm their admission status ('Accept & Freeze' /'Accept & Upgrade'/ Decline' ) for payment by logging in into the dashboard of the admission portal of The University of Burdwan by putting their Application Sequence Number and password through the following link during 13.12.2025 and 14.12.2025: Access for Student Dashboard
  • . In case of any issue/problem regarding payment, candidates should communicate via email immediately and definitely before the expiry of the stipulated period (email: support_sc.pgadmission2024@buruniv.ac.in). No communication in this regard will be entertained after the expiry of payment period. University will not take the responsibility of any payment failure caused due to network or technical problems call 9475629313.
  • Provisionally selected candidates should ensure collection of E-receipt of successful payment (for Burdwan University campus) or “Zero amount payment” (for any affiliated college), generated in the online system with “Successful” payment status. Mere receipt of SMS from own bank is not sufficient to ensure successful payment. The University will not take the responsibility of any payment failure caused due to network problems. So, candidates are advised to check and ensure their “Successful” Payment status.
  • After the expiry of payment period, the list of the candidates having “Successful” Payment/ Admission Status will be published on the university website.
  • All the selected candidates who have successfully paid the admission fees (For Burdwan University Campus) with 'Accept & Freeze' and /or “Zero amount payment receipt” with 'Accept & Freeze', will have to produce and submit self-attested photocopies of the Application Form along with all testimonials including the relevant certificates and final honours mark sheet, hard copy of the Anti-Ragging undertaking on the date of document verification, failing which their admission to Post Graduate courses will be cancelled. All eligibility criteria will be checked during document verification. If, at the time of document verification, the marks obtained by the candidate doesn’t match with the marks shown in the merit list (Based on the information provided by the candidate in the Application Form) the admission of the candidate is liable to be cancelled. In case a candidate is unable to attend Verification of the Document, he/she should send his/her authorised representative for the same. If any candidate or his/her authorized representative fails to turn up on the date of Document Verification, the admission to PG Course, 2025 will be cancelled.
  • The entire process of admission to the PG Programmes 2025 for candidates under reserve categories shall be concluded subject to the orders and direction passed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and/or the Hon’ble High Court at Calcutta, as may be applicable in this regard.
  • If there is no candidate in the UR-DA, SP Category, then the seat will be transferred to the UR Category. Under similar circumstances, seats of DA-SC, DA-ST, DA-OBCA, DA-OBCB will be transferred to SC, ST, OBCA and OBCB Category respectively.
  • As per the reservation rules vide Govt. Order No.: 07-Edn (U)/1U-89/13.- dated. 2nd January, 2014 “for admission to different courses, an SC or ST candidate getting admission should have obtained in the previous examination; qualifying marks not lower by more than 25% of the marks obtained by the last candidate of the general category. In case of OBC-A and OBC-B the candidate getting admission should have obtained in the previous examination; qualifying marks not lower by more than 10% from the marks obtained by the last candidate of the general category.”
  • Guidelines of Inter-Transferability/Conversion of Reserved Seats: 17.1 In case seats reserved for SC Category remains vacant for want of eligible candidates, seats will be filled up by the eligible candidate from the list of ST Category and vice-versa.

    17.2 In case seats reserved for OBC-A Category remains vacant for want of eligible candidates, seats will be filled up by the eligible candidate from the list of OBC-B Category and vice-versa.
  • In compliance with the UGC, D.O. No 1-152029 (ARC) pt III, dated 24th May, 2023 and in pursuance to the Judgement of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, dated 08.05.2009 in Civil Appeal No 887/2009, attention of all the applicants and parents are drawn to the “Regulations on Curbing the Menace of ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009” notified by the UGC. The Regulations are available on the UGC website (www.ugc.ac.in)

    Ragging is completely banned in The University of Burdwan and its other centres of learning, and anyone found guilty of ragging and/or resorting to ragging in any form is liable to be appropriately punished as per law.

    The candidates who will be provisionally selected for admission to PG Course of Studies in the above mentioned Subjects for the session 2025-2027 are compulsorily required to complete the undertaking (if not completed in time of Application to the PG Admission-2025) by strictly following these instructions and must submit the hard copy of the Anti-Ragging undertaking in the time of Document Verification.

    As per the directives of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, it is notified that if any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authority, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if his/her explanation is not found satisfactory, the authority would expel him/her from the institution.

  • Seats remaining vacant after the expiry of payment period will be filled up through a third Provisional Allocation List/Online Counselling (PHASE 3) which will be notified in due course. Please visit the university website for any update.
  • Non-payment of admission fees (Burdwan University campus) or No Action in the Dashboard (for Affiliated colleges) by the selected/Allotted candidates shall amount to cancellation of his/her candidature and in such context, they will be debarred from participation in any subsequent phase of the admission process.
  • For subjects with multiple centres of study (Burdwan University Campus and Affiliated College), options once exercised, cannot be changed in any case in future unless the candidate gets the option of up gradation against any vacancy as per merit, created later on. However, the option for upgradation will only be available to those candidates who have completed the formalities ('Accept & Upgrade'/ Decline') relating to their initial and subsequent allotments (i.e. first and subsequent allocation list, if any).
  • Non-payment of admission fees by any selected candidate of the Provisional Merit List (Allocation List - Phase 2) shall amount to cancellation of his/her candidature and in such context, they will be debarred from participation in any round of the admission process.
  • Refund of Admission Fees for Cancellation of Admission/candidature will be as per the extant rules of UGC and Govt. of West Bengal.
