Applications are invited for admission in Ph.D. in Neuroscience at the S. N. Pradhan Centre for Neurosciences, CU for the year 2025 from eligible Life Sciences, Biological Sciences and Medical Sciences Post Graduate students who would be placed under the supervision of the following Principal Investigators (Supervisors) for pursuing their Ph.D. degree.
- Dr. Subhra Prakash Hui, S. N. Pradhan Centre for Neurosciences, University of Calcutta.
- Prof. Atanu Biswas, Department of Neurology, Bangur Institute of Neurosciences, IPGME&R, Kolkata.

The completed application form with a copy of the paid challan is to be submitted in the office of the Head of the Department, S. N. Pradhan Centre for Neurosciences, University of Calcutta, 35 Ballygunge Circular Road, Kolkata – 700019 by September 15, 2025.
Maximum up to 05 Ph.D. students (Unreserved = 2, SC = 1, OBC = 2)
[Reservation is applicable as per the West Bengal State Education Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Act, 2013] will be taken, if available.

The eligibility of the candidate will be as per UGC rules. Candidates with valid NET/GATE/DBT-NET/DST INSPIRE are not required to appear in the written test, but need to qualify in the interview.
Others will have to appear in a written MCQ (on Neuroscience syllabus) examination of 50 marks, the duration of which will be for 2 hours. The list of the selected candidates for interview will be displayed on the Departmental Notice Board.
The final selection for joining this program will be made on the basis of performance inthe interview
Declaration of names of finally selected candidates will be notified after approval by theUniversity Authorities.

* Please note that RET qualification does not ensure any Research Fellowships.

Declaration of eligible candidates for interview	10/10/2025 (05:00 P.M.) at the S. N. Pradhan Centre for Neurosciences, University of Calcutta.
Date of interview or Viva-voce examination	15/10/2025 (from 12:00 Noon) at the S. N. Pradhan Centre for Neurosciences, University of Calcutta, 35, Ballygunge Circular Road, Kolkata – 700019, India.
Submission of fees	On and before 15/09/2025 Candidates are requested to deposit Rs. 100/- as the application fee for RET on SBI Collect (Educational Institutions > Calcutta University > Payment Category > Payment for Miscellaneous fees > Applications for Admission to Ph.D.)
