Admission to Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety & Environmental Management 2025-26
B.Sc. from any recognized university approved by UGC with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or equivalent to previously mentioned degrees (Category 1).
B.E. / B. Tech (any engineering discipline) or B. Arch. / B. Pharm. approved by AICTE or equivalent to all previously mentioned degrees (Category 2).
Diploma in any engineering discipline except Information Technology and Computer Science awarded by the State Council / State Board of concerned state and approved by AICTE or equivalent to all previously mentioned diploma (Category 3).
Successful students who have passed the course approved by the State Council, West Bengal for Junior Safety Officer. However, students having arts and commerce backgrounds will not be eligible (Category 4).
Those appearing in the final examination are eligible to apply. Marks obtained till the last examination appeared will be considered for admission. They must produce their final mark sheet within three months from the date of commencement of classes or date of admission, whichever is later. Otherwise their candidature will stand cancelled.
Age: No bar.
Intake: Total intake is 40 (Forty). Reservation as per Government of West Bengal norms.
FOR SC/ST CATEGORY As per circular Nos. BC-16014/1/82-SC dt.06/08/1984 & BCD-1, D.O.12017/11/89-SCD(R. CELL) dt.09/01/1990 and 1465-BCW/MR-67/10 dt.30/04/2010 from the Government of West Bengal, Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes of the States other than West Bengal are not entitled to get the benefit of reserved quota in Educational Institutions in West Bengal. Such students may get the benefit of reserve quota if they have domicile certificate of 10 years residency in West Bengal.
FOR OBC CATEGORY The reservation for OBC category in the admission process is carried forward subject to orders passed by the Hon'ble Calcutta High Court dated 22/5/2024 (which has been challenged before the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India), and relevent State Government orders. Candidates provisionally selected under OBC category should submit a valid NCL certificate (issued by competent authority) which should not be earlier than 19th June, 2025. OBC candidates from the States other than West Bengal are not entitled to get the benefit of reserved quota in Educational Institutions in West Bengal. Such students may get the benefit of reserve quota if they have domicile certificate of 10 years residency in West Bengal.
FOR PD CATEGORY Persons with 40% or more disability will only be considered for admission under PD quota under RPD Act, 2016.
Duration: Three Semesters (each semester of 16 weeks duration).
Timing and Venue: Classes will be held from 06:00 P.M. to 08:15 P.M. at the School of Environmental Studies, Jadavpur University Main Campus.
Fees for 3-semester course is Rs. 50,000/- (plus GST) to be paid in one installment at the time of admission. For industry sponsored candidates the fees is Rs. 60,000/- (plus GST) to be paid in one installment. In addition, each student has to pay his/her examination fees as per the university rules.
Applicants can fill up the application form online. They can also download the application in PDF format fill up by hand and submit in the office of the School of Environmental Studies, Jadavpur University (Main campus) on Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri (excluding Wed) 6 pm to 7 pm. They can also send application form by Registered/Speed Post to Director, School of Environmental Studies, Jadavpur University, Kolkata 700 032. The University will not be responsible for any postal delay of the application. The application fee is Rs. 50.00 and the same should be paid online through SBI-Collect portal for online applications. For offline applications, application fee (Rs. 50.00) should also be paid through SBI-Collect portal and a print-out of the receipt should be attached with the hand-filled up application form.
Seats will be distributed among the four categories (please see eligibility criteria above) of the applicants based on the number of applications received in each category. No written admission test will be held. Merit list in each of the four categories will be prepared considering 10th class final marks (20% weightage) and degree/diploma marks (30% weightage). After that candidates will be called for interview (30% weightage). Preference will be given for industry experience (20% weightage).
Industry experience will be evaluated on 100 marks scale. For experience less than 3 years 30/100; for experience between 3-5 years 50/100; and for experience more than 5 years, 100/100. The relevant experience shall be counted from the date of joining the job, but not earlier than the date of publication of the final result of degree/diploma, till the last date of application submission. Authenticity proof of the present employer through either of (i) Form-16 or any other IT document of the applicant containing the name of the employer OR (ii) certified copy of the Registration / Trade license / GST certificate / PAN / TAN document of the employer. All previous experience certificate(s) or joining and release letter(s) clearly indicating the date of joining and leaving to the organisation(s) in chronological order.
Provisional merit lists will be displayed on Jadavpur University website and candidates will also be informed through email. Course will be conducted subject to filling up of minimum number of seats. If not filled up entire course fees paid will be returned.
