Admission to the Ph.D. (Science) Programme for the academic session 2025-2026

Applications are invited from eligible Indian Nationals who have already qualified in NET / SET / GATE / ICMR-NET / DBT-NET, AYUSH – NET, ICAR - NET etc. examinations and have eligibility for admission to the Ph.D.(Science) degree as per new J.U. Ph.D. Regulation 2024 in the departments of Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Geological Scs., Geography, Life Sc. & Biotechnology and Instrumentation Sc. under the Faculty of Science, Jadavpur University for thesession 2025-26. Please go through the following instructions for details:

• All applicants must have possessed at least 2-years M.Sc. or equivalent degree from any Universityor Institute recognized by the UGC with requisite marks as laid down in the eligibility under new J.U. Ph.D. regulation 2024.
• Candidate should apply downloading the application form available fromthe website (jadavpuruniversity.in).
• Candidates have to pay the application fee of Rs. 500/- (per subject) online through SBI Collect systemusing Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking etc. The payment portal will be opened from 13/10/2025 at 04:00 P.M. and it will be continued till 31/10/2025 upto 04:00 P.M.
• Candidates have to submit the filled-in application to the Office of Dean & Secretary, Ph.D. Cell, Faculty of Science, TEQIP Building (Ground Floor), Jadavpur University along with the following testimonials:
  (i) one passport size photograph duly affixed in the application form
  (ii) attested copies of all mark-sheets andcertificates from Madhyamik onwards,
  (iv) admit card / certificate of Madhyamik for age verification
  (iii) SC/ST/PD/OBC-A/OBC-B Certificate from competent authority, (where applicable),
  (v) NET / SET / GATE / ICMR-NET / DBT-NET, AYUSH – NET, ICAR - NET certificates etc.
  (vi) receipt of online payment of application fee
  (vii) filled-in consent form duly signed by the Supervisor, Director (in case of affiliated institute) and HOD of the concerned Department of Jadavpur University.
• Employed candidates have to fill the NOC portion of the form, duly authenticated by the competent authority.
• Filled-in application form for Ph.D. (Science) programme 2025-26 will be received upto 31st October, 2025.
• Format of Consent form of Supervisor will be available with this notice.
• Institutional fellowship is not available.
• The date of Interview will be notified in due course.
• Admission of the candidate shall depend upon the consent of the supervisor to be allotted.
• Vacancies shall be predetermined by the committee concerned.
• No WRET (Written Entrance Test) will be conducted by Jadavpur University.
• **Application form completed in all respect will only be considered. Incomplete application will berejected summarily.
• Candidates are requested to follow the website notifications from time to time for any changes in this regard.
