Admission to M.E./M.Tech. Courses for the academic year 2025-26
GENERAL INFORMATION

Information for Admission to M.E./M.TECH. (2025-2026) will be available from 26 June, 2025.
On-line Application Form fill-up: from 30 June 2025 to 10 July 2025.

The information brochure is for the admission to the Post-Graduate Degree Programmes offered by 14 Departments under the Faculty of Engineering & Technology (FET) and 9 Interdisciplinary Schools under the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Law and Management (FISLM) and affiliated to the FET, for the session 2025-26. All the programmes are AICTE-approved. The programme durations are regular 4-Semester Day, except six, separately marked as 6-semester evening programmes.

• Admission Categories: Admissions to these programmes are open under the following categories:
  • Category A: GATE - for candidates qualified through GATE and having a valid GATE score in terms of the validity period, the cut-off marks in the candidate's respective reservation category, and the disciplines as stipulated in the eligibility condition, if any.
  • Category B: Sponsored - for in-service professionals with a minimum experience, as stipulated in the eligibility condition, after passing the qualifying degree and duly sponsored by his/her employer.
  • Category C: Self-Sponsored - for candidates satisfying minimum eligibility conditions with or without a valid GATE score for specified programmes only and fulfilling other programme-specific criteria, if any.
• Scholarships: Award of scholarships for GATE-qualified candidates is not the responsibility of the University.
  • The candidates with a valid GATE score and admitted to a programme duly approved by the AICTE under Category A (GATE) are to apply for the scholarship directly to the AICTE, when notified to do so, and will start to enjoy the scholarship directly from the AICTE if sanctioned by them.
  • There will be NO SCHOLARSHIP for candidates admitted under the Sponsored and Self-Sponsored Category. They will not be eligible for the scholarship even if they possess a valid GATE score.
  • Candidates, after taking admission and if eligible for a scholarship, may act as per the guidelines published by the scholarship-providing authority. The award of scholarships is not the responsibility of the University.

Important Information

• The Application will be through online mode only, and the admission test and final admission will be in person at the university campus as per the schedule.
• The fee structure for the programmes (along with categories) is available separately as Table 2.
• All admission-related communication/notification from the university, including publication of the detailed schedule, list of candidates at all stages, merit lists, selection lists, etc., will be notified in due time only on the JU-FET admission portal https://admissionju.jadavpuruniversity.in/fengadmission/
• Being updated on the admission-related notification and /or instruction is the responsibility of the applicant. No individual communication will be made. Any complaint of not being aware of a published notification/schedule will not be entertained. Jadavpur University will not be responsible for any consequences arising out of not adhering to this guideline, OR the candidate not following the instructions or failing to act as per schedule and leading to automatic cancellation of application/candidature/selection, if any, without further communication.
• Registration on the application portal or fulfilment of minimum eligibility criteria, or submission of application, or successful verification of online documents, or online provisional eligibility or position in provisional merit/selection list position does not confer any right of the applicant to be considered for admission.
• Any wrong or misleading information furnished or suppression of information, if detected at any point in time, may lead to cancellation of the application or admission at any point in time without any correspondence.
• The Admission Committee reserves the right not to select any candidate who is considered physically unfit or otherwise unsuitable.
• All J.U. courses are non-residential. Hostel seats are not guaranteed.

Withdrawal of Admission Withdrawal of student ship, including refund of course fees, if any, will be as per UGC and university guidelines, and any admitted student willing to withdraw the student ship must contact the Muster Roll (MR) section of the university in person.

Anti-Ragging Ragging is not only a social evil but also a penal offence. Any student/s indulging in ragging of any student/s including freshers’ during admission/interview and/or subsequently at the hostel or in the class or in the corridors or anywhere inside and outside of the campus, shall be dealt with punishment ranging from loss of academic year/loss of hostel boardership to expulsion from the university itself. Reporting to the Police Station may also be made in addition to the above punishment.
The University follows all the directives of the “UGC REGULATION ON CURBING THE MENACE OF RAGGING IN HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS, 2009 under the direction of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
