3rd Cycle/Round of Hostel Admission Schedule for PG 1st Semester Students (Session 2025-26)

In accordance with the resolution of the Hostel Monitoring Committee meeting dated 11.11.2025, the 3rd Cycle/Round of hostel admission for P.G. 1st Semester students (Session 2025–26) shall be carried out as per the tentative schedule given below:

The dates are tentative and may be subject to change. Students/Candidates are requested to visit the University website (www.nbu.ac.in) for further information, if any.

Important Notes:

• Interested students are advised to keep their Family Income Certificate for the financial year 2024–25 ready, as it is mandatory for hostel application. The Family Income Certificate must be issued by an SDO, BDO, or a Gazetted Government Officer not below the rank of Joint BDO. An Income Tax Return (ITR) will also be accepted as valid proof of family income. Certificates issued by Panchayat Pradhans or Municipality Chairmen will not be accepted. A general Income Certificate template has been attached below for use where a prescribed proforma is not available.
• This is the 3rd Cycle/Round of hostel admission and to participate in this process the students need to comply with the following:
  • Students admitted in 1st semester PG till 4th December, 2025 and the students who did not get hostels in 1st & 2nd Cycles of Hostel Admission.
  • Admission taken for PG courses in the Raja Rammohunpur Campus (Main Campus) only. Students admitted for any PG course at Jalpaiguri Campus is not eligible for hostel at this point of time.
  • The applicant must not have availed NBU hostel accommodation earlier for any P.G. course, except in the transition from B.Lib.I.Sc. to M.Lib.I.Sc.
• Hostel admission will be granted strictly on the basis of the merit list prepared as per the University’s selection criteria; meeting the eligibility conditions alone does not ensure admission.
• It is hereby clarified that the above admission process pertains to a certain percentage of hostel seats only. The hostel admission portal will be reopened in due course of P.G. 1st Semester admissions, including for those candidates who did not secure hostel accommodation in the first & second rounds.
