Therefore, University has decided to conduct a mop-up round of counselling for admission to M.Sc. in Zoology (PGZO), M.Sc. in Geography (PGGR) and M.Sc. in Environmental Science (PGES) to give a second chance to those candidates enlisted in the merit list [LIST-I(PGZO-NSOU), LIST-II(PGZO-NON-NSOU), LISTIII(PGGR-NSOU), LIST-IV(PGGR-NON-NSOU), LIST-V(PGES-NSOU) and LIST-VI(PGES-NON-NSOU)] published on 22.08.2025 against vide memo no.: Reg/1039 dated 22.08.2025 and who have missed their first chance in counselling cum spot admission for M.Sc. in Zoology (PGZO), M.Sc. in Geography (PGGR) and M.Sc. in Environmental Science (PGES) AY 2025-26 held on 25.08.2025, 26.08.2025 and 27.08.2025 respectively.
Allotment of seats will be made strictly in order of merit and subject to the availability of seats in respective Learner Support Centre for the respective course and category. Enlisted candidates are requested to report at DD-26, Sector- I, Salt Lake City, Kolkata -700 064 as detailed below:

- Candidates from previous merit list published on 22.08.2025 must ensure that they have not attended in the Counselling cum spot admission for above mentioned subjects.
- Candidates must report at the above-mentioned venue as per reporting time stipulated.
- Attending Counselling does not mean getting admission in the Course. Admission depends upon applicant’s rank in the merit list, verification of documents, verification of DEB ID and availability of seats in respect of Learner Support Centres and category.

The amount Rs. 18,475/- may be paid either through bank draft (drawn in favour of “Netaji Subhas Open University” payable at Kolkata) or through debit/credit card.
- Payment will be received only after verification of candidature, verification of DEB ID and also subject to the availability of seats. In the event of non-availability of seat, the payment will not be accepted and the candidate is liable to cancel the draft at his/her own cost from respective bank.
- Failure to produce Demand Draft or payment through debit/credit card will automatically cancel the candidature.
DOCUMENTS/ INFORMATION TO BE PRODUCED:
At the time of counselling candidates should report with the following documents/information:
- All original Admit Card, Mark sheets, Certificates, Proof for Date of Birth, Cast Certificate (For other than General Category), PWD Certificate and Identity Card (For PH Candidates), EWSs certificate (if applicable) are to be produced at the time of Counselling.
- Photocopies of all testimonials.
- Two recent passport size colour photographs
- Print out of the Online Application Form
- ABC ID: As per directives of UGC, ABC ID is mandatory. Candidates are advised to get their ABC ID from Academic Bank of Credits, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India portal (www.abc.gov.in).
- DEB ID: As per directives of UGC-DEB, getting DEB ID is mandatory to pursue any programme under
Open and Distance Learning mode. Therefore, candidates are requested to get their DEB ID from UGCDEB portal (https://deb.ugc.ac.in/StudentDEBId) to participate in the counselling cum spot admission.
Without successful verification of DEB ID candidature will be cancelled by the University
Failure to produce all the documents/information stated above may result in cancellation of the
candidature.
As per office memorandum of Govt. of WB vide no. 325-PAR(AR)/3P-1/2019 dated 09.07.2019, candidates
belong to EWSs who are not covered under the scheme of reservation for SCs, STs and OBCs are requested
report at time of counselling as scheduled above for the respective programme. Candidates want to get
benefits of reservation under EWSs reservation should carry the original copy of the certificate.
GENERAL INFORMATION:

Marks relaxation as per rules of Govt. of West Bengal applicable for reserved category of candidates. In this regard it may be noted that, matter related to OBC reservation policy of the Govt. of WB is under due consideration of the Hon’ble Supreme Court / Calcutta High Court therefore, counselling cum seat allotment for the vacancy reserved under OBC-A and OBC-B category will be withheld for the time being till the direction of Hon’ble Court / Higher Education Department, Govt. of West Bengal is received. However, applicants belong to OBC category and listed under combined merit list of respective programme may participate in the mop-up round of counselling cum spot admission for the vacancy available under general category.

Reservation of seats for SC/ST/PH/OBC/EWS is applicable to candidates of West Bengal only. SC/ST/PH/EWS candidates of other states cannot avail of this facility.

Reserve Category applicants are eligible to opt for consideration either in the Combined General Merit List or in the respective reserved category merit list and if a reserved category candidate opts to be considered under Combined General Merit List category, his/her right for Reserved Category Merit List will be ceased automatically.

Candidates belonging to EWSs who are not covered under the scheme of reservation for SCs, STs and OBCs are requested to report before starting of counselling for respective programmes as scheduled above (till 11.30 AM). Candidates want to get benefits of reservation under EWSs reservation should carry the original copy of the certificate.

The candidates earmarked under any slot of the counselling programme must report at the time stipulated for him/her in the merit list. The counselling will not be stopped for any particular candidate being absent at the time of reporting of that particular slot.

A candidate missing his/her own slot will in no case be accommodated in any subsequent slot.

A candidate must appear in person at the counselling venue for allotment of seat for admission in his/her favour.

Counselling as per the declared schedule shall continue till availability of seats for admission. The counselling of a particular category will be declared closed instantly as soon as all seats for admission in that category are filled up. No further entries in this regard will be entertained.

No TA/DA will be paid by the NSOU for attending the Counselling.
