Notification for International Students for Admission in Ph.D. Programs, 2025

Students from abroad are welcome at Visva-Bharati. They may join Ph.D. programs of the University. Before joining any course of the University, they must satisfy the academic requirements mentioned in the e-Prospectus for Ph.D. programs 2025 available on www.vbadmission.in. They should apply through https://forms.gle/BmDYNCsb9xzhm9HC9 based on the concerned admission notification published/uploaded on the university admission portal (www.vbadmission.in).

Research programs are open for foreign students. The candidates must obtain clearance from the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, for studying (especially for research) in India.

Reservation for International/Foreign students:
25% of intake capacity is made available for international students (i.e., Foreigners, Non-resident Indians and Persons of Indian Origin) as supernumerary seats. 5% of seats out of the 25% supernumerary seats for admission of foreign students shall be earmarked for children of Indian workers in the Gulf and South-East Asia.

Foreign Applicants need to apply separately for the various programmes at Visva-Bharati for their admission as their admission process is not same for Indian nationals. They are requested to visit Visva-Bharati Admission Portal (www.vbadmission.in) regularly for updated information and filled up the form accordingly. For all foreign transactions:

Application process for admission to Ph.D. courses of Visva-Bharati for International Students for the session 2025-26 will commence from 25th September (Thursday), 2025. The important dates are given below:

The Prospectus-2025 for Ph.D. courses can be downloaded from the Visva-Bharati admission portal vbadmission.in.

It is to be noted that the entire process of admission 2025-2026 will be guided by the Prospectus-2025 for Ph.D. courses and the notifications published time to time by the University in the admission portal. Candidates must read very carefully the guidelines available in the Prospectus-2025 before submission of online application.

Applicants are requested to regularly visit the Visva-Bharati admission portal to keep updated about the information relating to admission for the session 2025-26.

Application Procedure for Foreign Students for Ph.D. Courses for the academic session 2025-26

• Form to be filled up before starting online application by international students
• Documents to be kept ready:
  (i) First Page of Passport showing name and other personal details
  (ii) Passing Certificate of Qualifying/Equivalence Degree
  (iii) Marks sheet of Qualifying/Equivalence Degree
  (iv) Payment Receipts generated through online submission
  (v) Filled in application form
• Online payment method:
  Step 1: Go to https://www.onlinesbi.sbi/sbicollect or https://www.onlinesbi.sbi/sbicollect/icollecthome.htm
  
  Step 2: Select "Educational Institution"
  
  Step 3: Type VISVA BHARATI UNIVERSITY in the search bar given for Educational Institutions.
  
  Step 4: Click on VISVA BHARATI UNIVERSITY
  
  Step 5: Select ‘Payment Category – Misc Receipt’ under Enter Payment details.
  
  Step 6: Under Payment category (For SAARC countries- INR 5,000 or equivalent USD and for Non-SAARC countries- INR 10,000 or equivalent USD), select Application form fee payment option.
  
  Step 7: Under remark, mention for which School or Department you are applying or any comment that you feel it will help
• How to apply:
  1. All international candidates can apply through Google Link: https://forms.gle/BmDYNCsb9xzhm9HC9
  2. Fill up the columns required in the google link.
  3. Upload all the documents mentioned in point number [2].
  4. This is suggested to merge all the documents and pdf copy of application for uploading in the google form.
  5. Submit the form and keep the copy of acknowledgement with you.
