Admission to Vacant Seats in different UG/PG Courses (Non-CUET) for the academic session 2025-2026

In accordance with the UGC letter no. D.O. No. F. 22-8/2023 (CU) dated 7th June, 2024, a fresh registration portal (NON-CUET) will be opened on the Samarth platform to fill the vacant seats FOR ADMISSION TO SOME UG/PG COURSES WHERE SEATS ARE LYING VACANT, Subject-wise and Category-wise vacancy details are attached.

Registration will open on 27/09/2025 (12:01 A.M.)
Registration will close on 09/10/2025 (11:55 P.M.)
Eligible applicants can visit the following website for registration: visvabharatiadmission.samarth.edu.in
  • All guidelines except modalities of the Admission Test will remain the same as specified in the relevant sections in the Prospectus 2025, which can be downloaded from the Visva-Bharati admission portal (www.vbadmission.in). For admission to M.Ed., to the details guidelines are attached.
  • As per UGC notification (letter no. D.O. No. F. 22-8/2023 (CU) dated 7th June, 2024) the concerned departments may conduct either admission tests or the merit list may be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in 10+2 level. The mode of selection will be displayed later in Visva-Bharati admission portal.
Candidates should take utmost care in filling out the profile section and academic section during registration, as no correction window will be available in this mode.

Incomplete applications will be rejected.

Fees for registration are given below:

Two-year M.Ed. is a regular full time professional program of four-semester recognized by National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi.
Student Intake: 27
Eligibility:
Candidates seeking admission to M.Ed. program shall have 50% marks for UR and EWS, 45% marks for OBC-NCL (non-creamy layer), and pass marks for SC and ST candidates in one of the following degrees/diplomas from a recognized University/Institution:
(a) B.Ed.
(b) B.A. B.Ed./ B.Sc. B.Ed.
(c) B.El.Ed.
(d) D.El.Ed. with an Under Graduate Degree (with 50% marks in each).

The candidates shall have studied any of the following subjects in combination at under-graduate level, one of which is Honours/Major subject:
Bengali, English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Santali, Economics, Geography, History (Ancient/Modern), Music (Rabindra-Sangit/Classical-Vocal), Philosophy, Mathematics, Statistics, Education, Physical Science (Physics/Chemistry) and Life Science (Botany/Zoology).

Admission Procedure:
  • Selection of NON-CUET candidates shall be made on the basis of merit determined by the score obtained by the candidates in Entrance Test conducted by Department of Education, Vinaya Bhavana. In case of tie, the general tie-breaking sequence will be followed. Selection shall be made on the basis of merit list determined by the score obtained in the entrance test conducted by the Department.
  • Candidates who have passed their qualifying degree on or after 2016 shall be eligible to apply.
  • The candidate must produce their final mark sheet and NCTE recognized certificate of qualifying degree at the time of physical verification, otherwise their candidature will be automatically cancelled. In such case, no claim for refund of registration fee will be entertained.
  • Merit list would be prepared as follows-
    • An exhaustive merit list (category wise as PWD, UR, OBC-NCL, SC and ST) including all appeared candidates in M.Ed. admission test will be prepared.
    • General merit list for PWD [Person with Disabilities (i.e. HI, VI, Locomotor Disability)], SC, St and OBC-NCL will also be prepared separately.
  • Vacant OBC-NCL seat(s) will be filled up from UR waiting list in case of non- availability of OBC-NCL candidate(s). Vacant SC seat(s) will be filled-up from ST waiting list and vice-versa.
  • Final semester appearing candidates are eligible to apply for the M.Ed. program. However, all required documents must be produced at the time of physical verification, failing which candidature will be cancelled.

  • In case of non-availability of OBC-NCL and EWS candidates, seats will be converted to UR category.
  • In case of non-availability of SC applicants, seats will be converted to ST & vice-versa.
  • Vacancies in any category may increase in case of cancellation/withdrawal of admission.
