Revised General Instructions for Departmental test for Admission to BFA, Kala Bhavana 2025-26

General Instructions and Information for Applicants in UG Courses in various departments in Kala Bhavana in 2025-2026.

• Admission with CUET UG-2025 is compulsory.
• Applicants opting for the above mentioned Under-graduate programmes will have to appear in an OFF-LINE (Physical Mode) aptitude test at Kala-Bhavana to be conducted by the concerned departments as per criteria mentioned below:
  DETAILS OF THE APTITUDE TEST (UG) TO BE CONDUCTED BY THE DEPARTMENTS OFTHEBHAVANA
  • Department of Ceramics & Glass Design:
    Departmental Aptitude test will be a Practical test followed by a Viva-voce with a presentation of their portfolio of artworks. The weightage of CUET-2025 and the Departmental Test will be in the ratio of 50:50.
    
    The date of aptitude test will be as follows:
    4th June, 2025: (10:00 AM to 01:00 PM) - Practical Test at respective department.
    5th & 6th of June 2025: (10:00 AM onwards) Viva-Voce at respective department
    
    For Lateral Entry: As per NEP guidelines, the evaluation will be conducted by the respective department with a portfolio of original works to be submitted by the candidate for the presentation/viva-voce evaluation, as per departmental criteria.
  • Department of Graphic Art (Printmaking):
    Applicants will have to appear before an aptitude test, consisting of a practical evaluation and a viva-voce. The weightage of CUET and the aptitude test will be in the ratio of 50:50.
    
    The date of aptitude test will be as follows:
    4th June, 2025: (10:00 AM to 1:00 PM) - Practical Test at respective department.
    5th & 6th of June 2025: (10:00 AM onwards) Viva-Voce at respective department
    
    For Lateral entry: As per NEP guidelines, the evaluation will be conducted by the respective department with a portfolio of works submitted by the candidate followed by a viva-voce evaluation.
  • Department of History of Art
    The·department will conduct an aptitude test in the form of a written test, followed by a viva-voce. The weightage between the two will be as follows: The weightage of CUET and the aptitude test will be in the ratio of 50:50. The departmental test will be distributed as- Written Test: 40%, Viva-voce: 60%.
    
    The date of aptitude test will be as follows:
    4th June, 2025: (10:00 AM to 1:00 PM) - Written Test at respective department.
    5th & 6th of June 2025: (10:00 AM onwards) Viva-Voce at respective department
    
    For Lateral entry: As per NEP guidelines.
  • Department of Painting
    Applicants have to appear before an aptitude test, consisting of a practical evaluation and a Viva-voce with a presentation of their portfolio of works. The weightage of CUET-2025 and the aptitude test will be in the ratio of 50:50.
    
    The date of aptitude test will be as follows:
    4th June, 2025: (10:00 AM to 1:00 PM) - Practical Test at respective department.
    5th & 6th of June 2025: (10:00 AM onwards) Viva-Voce at respective department
    
    For Lateral entry: As per NEP guidelines, the evaluation will be conducted by the respective department with a portfolio of works submitted by the candidate followed by a viva-voce evaluation.
  • Department of Sculpture
    The Department will admit students to the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture based on a merit list prepared on the basis of the combined score of CUET-2025 evaluation and an aptitude test conducted by the Department of Sculpture, where the weightage will be in the ratio of 50:50. The aptitude test will comprise of a practical test of 60% and a viva-voce of 40%. The applicants are required to bring their art works portfolio at the time of Viva-voce.
    
    The date of aptitude test will be as follows:
    4th June, 2025: (10:00 AM to 1:00 PM) - Practical Test at respective department.
    5th & 6th of June 2025: (10:00 AM onwards) Viva-Voce at respective department
    
    For Lateral entry: As per NEP guidelines
  • Department of Textile Design
    Departmental Aptitude test will be a Practical Test followed by a Viva-voce. The weightage of CUET-2025 and the Departmental Test will be in the ratio of 50:50. The Applicants are required to bring their portfolio at the time of interview.
    
    The date of aptitude test will be as follows:
    4th June, 2025: (10:00 AM to 1:00 PM) - Practical Test at respective department.
    5th & 6th of June 2025: (10:00 AM onwards) Viva-Voce at respective department

MODALITIES FOR PREPARING MERIT LIST FOR ADMISSION TO DIFFERENT COURSES THROUGH APTITUDE TESTS:
Selection and admission of applicants to UG Bachelor of Fine Arts programmes running in the Departments of Kala-Bhavana will be based on the merit list prepared on the basis of the Aptitude test at the Departments in Kala-Bhavana and of the result from the CUET-2025 with a weightage of CUET, 50:Aptitude Test, 50.

Reporting time for applicants:
For written test, practical test, viva-voce aptitude test applicants should reach at least halfan-hour before the starting time.

General Instructions:
- Applicants should bring with them, a print-out (hard copy) of the Visva-Bharati application form/CUET application form.
- Applicants should carry with them original government issued valid photo-ID cards.
- Applicants should also bring with them all certificates in the originals.
