With the conclusion of the centralized admission process for this academic year, colleges have now been granted permission to admit students through a decentralized system.
As per the official instructions, decentralized admissions were to begin after October 10 and must be finalized by November 7. So far, approximately 2.6 lakh students have secured seats through the centralized portal, out of a total of 9.3 lakh undergraduate seats available.
Institutions have been directed to follow a merit-based approach for admissions. They are not allowed to charge any fees for document uploading or scanning, and students should not be required to appear in person for verification. Currently, more than 60% of seats remain unfilled across colleges.
