WBCAP: ADDENDUM #1 to Important Notice regarding Category details

• In terms of order dated 26th June, 2025 in CPAN 1085 of 2025 (Purabi Das v Dr. Manoj Pant & Ors.), kindly note that: “the expression ‘receipt of all applications’ in the Centralised portal must also include, the original OBC category persons i.e. those in the existing classes of OBCs prior to 2010 as directed by this Court in the judgment dated 22nd May, 2024 passed in WPO 60 of 2011.”
• The judgment and order dated 22nd May, 2024 in WPO No. 60 of 2011 passed by the Hon’ble High Court at Calcutta has been challenged in the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India being SLP Nos. 17751 to 17755 of 2024 (State of West Bengal v. Amal Chandra Das) which is pending adjudication. This notice is being issued without prejudice to the rights of the parties in this SLP and connected matters.
• In terms of the earlier notice regarding category details, it is re-iterated that any final decision on any application will be subject to further orders which may be passed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court in all the pending SLPs (including those mentioned at Sl. No. 2 above) and subject to outcome of the other pending legal proceedings.
• This addendum may be read as part of the ‘Important Notice Regarding Category Details’.
