Admission to ITI (Industrial Training Institute) for the Academic Year 2025-26

Online applications are invited from intending and eligible candidates for admission in different trade courses, affiliated to the NCVET under Craftsman Training Scheme (CTS), running in different Govt. ITIs / ITCs / PPP Govt. ITIs / Govt. Jr. Polytechnics (JP) / Pvt. ITIs in West Bengal, as per the list given in Annexure-A, for the session commencing from August 2025. Admission process for Govt. ITI Tung and ITC Kalimpong, located within Gorkha Territorial Administration (GTA)will be conducted separately by the appropriate authority.

Eligibility for Applicants
Qualification:
Candidates, who passed the requisite entry qualification from any school located within the State of West Bengal, are eligible for admission to Govt. ITIs / ITCs / JP and PPP Govt. ITIs / Pvt. ITIs. Institute / trade would be allotted through e-counseling based on the rank in the merit list and choice of the applicant. Institute/ trade choice would be collected on-line, from the applicants, in due course. For the candidates appearing Madhyamik 2025 or equivalent examination this year from any recognised Board 7 (Seven) days will be given for application after date of publication of results of Madhyamik 2025 or equivalent examination.

For Previously admitted/passed out trainees from any Govt.ITI / ITC / JP and PPP Govt. ITI:
  • ITI Passed-out trainees: Passed-out trainees from any Govt. ITI/ITC/JP or PPP Govt. ITI are not eligible for admission for three consecutive years in the same ITI and for one year in any other ITIs. (Excluding the passing out year).
  • ITI admitted but drop-out/discharged trainees: Previously admitted but drop-out/discharged trainee from any Govt. ITI/ ITC/ JP is not eligible for admission for three consecutive years in the same ITI and for one year in any other ITIs, considering the completion of the training session of the discharged trainee.
  • Age limit: Applicant should attain at least 14 years of age as on 01.08.2025, i.e, born before 01.08.2011. For Drone related courses, the age should be at least 18 years. There is no upper-age limit.


Academic qualification:
  • Trade courses are divided under two groups viz. E Group & M Group.
  • Minimum entry qualification for M Group trades: Passed Madhyamik or equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  • For E Group trades: Class Eight passed from a recognized school.
    N.B.: Candidates having been passed Madhyamik or equivalent Examination without Mathematics and Physical Science as subjects will not be entitled for admission to the trades of Engineering Group.
  • Applicant is eligible for applying both M Group and E Group of trades. However, they have to apply as per eligibility criteria of both Groups.
Procedure to fill up online forms
For M Group: The candidates will indicate full marks and subsequently marks obtained in the Madhyamik or equivalent examination during on-line form fill up. The system will automatically generate the percentage of marks.

The full marks and marks obtained by the candidates can be filled up as follows:
  • Category A: Candidates passed from any Board where Full marks and marks obtained are shown in the Mark sheet in numerical, like Madhyamik Board, Candidate will fill up Full marks and marks obtained as shown in the mark-sheet.
  • Category B: Candidates passed from any board where subject-wise marks are shown in percentage but, summation of full marks and marks obtained is not shown (in numerical), like ICSE etc.: Full marks may be calculated as "100 multiplied by total no. of subjects" and marks obtained may be calculated as "summation of percentages of marks of each subject". There is no concept of "best of five".
  • Category C: Candidates passed from any Board(s) where final marks obtained by the candidate are shown in Grade only, instead of any numerical value, marks can be calculated by multiplying factor as prescribed by concerned Board.
  • Tie-breaking procedure for applicants securing same percentage of marks in Madhyamik or equivalent examination: Marks obtained in mathematics, science (Physical Sc.) and date of birth would be considered sequentially for breaking of tie.
  • For E Group: The candidates will indicate full marks and marks obtained in the class VIII examination during on-line form fill up. The system will automatically generate the percentage of marks.
  • All related Notifications regarding admission would be published in the web- portal https://scvtwb.in from time to time.
Instruction for M & E Group Applicants
Registration & Form Fill Up:
  • Candidates have to register themselves online for filling up online application forms in the website https://scvtwb.in. They must have their own mobile no. for getting one time password during registration. Once registration has been done, their registered mobile number will be User id and that must be preserved by the candidates for further proceeding of online form fill up. The DOB will be their default password. However, candidates are requested to change the password in the first time for security reason.
  • Applicants are to upload scan copy of their original mark-sheet of Madhyamik or equivalent examination/class VIII examination, recent colour photo, email id at the time of submission of filled in application form.
  • Physically challenged candidates are to upload the scan copy of respective original certificates at the time of online form fill up.
  • Institute/trade would be allotted based on the rank and choice of candidates. Candidates after getting the seat allotted, will take admission in concerned ITI by payment of requisite fees of admission through online. In case of any deviation of data found during verification of uploaded certificate, the allotment of seat would be summarily rejected and no further chance for rectification/ correction of application form would be entertained.
  • The candidates who will get an allotment of seat through online counseling has to mandatorily get admitted in the allotted seats for getting chance of up gradation of trade/ITI. If the candidate does not take admission on the allotted seats, he/she will be out of the counseling and no further chance will be given to him/her for appearing in the counseling.


Payment Procedure:
Payment will be made by Debit/Credit Card / Net Banking / e-Wallet / UPI etc.

List of Documents to be produced at the time of physical reporting at the ITI, after admission and before starting of physical classes:
  • Self-attested photo copy of Admit card of Madhyamik or equivalent / examination as proof of age (For M Group only).
  • Self-attested photo copy of mark-sheet of Madhyamik or equivalent/class VIII (As the case may be) examination.
  • Self-attested photo copy of Certificate of Madhyamik or equivalent examination/ class VIII (As the case may be).
  • CBSE internal 10th pass candidates will have to produce self-attested mark sheet issued by competent Authority (For M Group only).
  • Self-attested photo copy of SC / ST / OBC / PH certificate (if any). A candidate must have certificate in his/her own name (the certificate should be issued by the competent authorities of Govt. of West Bengal) only for availing admission under any reserved seat (SC/ST/OBC/PH).
  • Two colour passport size recent photograph (To be retained by the ITI).
  • Self-attested photo copy of Aadhaar Card.
  • Self-attested copy of Vocational/PBSSD pass certificate (if any).


Submission of Madhyamik / Class VIII (As the case may be) passed or equivalent certificate & mark sheet/are mandatory for admission in "M" Group or "E" group of trades respectively at the time of starting of physical classes. If any applicant fails to produce the above-mentioned documents at the time of reporting at ITI, the candidate will be debarred from admission even though his/her name appears in the merit list and he/she secures a seat in counseling.
Application Fees
  • For Boys: Fees will be Rs. 200/-
  • For Girls: Fees will be Rs. 100/-
Admission Fees (both M & E Group)
Fees for admission in Govt. ITIs (for both 'M' & 'E' Group trades) for the session August, 2025:
Following fees are to be paid by the candidates at the time of admission, through online mode for deposit to the Bank Account of WBSCVT via the payment Gateway. Rest of the fees need to be paid by the student at the beginning of every 6 months.

As regards the Refund Policy of excess fees deposited by the candidates, the refund of excess payments received from the candidates will be made within two months after the month in which it was received in our Bank Account on a best effort basis. All candidates will be given an option at the time of payment to indicate his preference for receiving the refund of excess payment if any, either to the originating Account or some other Bank Account, details of which will have to be furnished.
