It is for information to all concerned that, regarding the B.Tech Admission, the following schedule and rules are to be followed,

All applicants who have scored above and equal to the cut-off marks are eligible to attend the counselling session. Eligible applicants must report to the admission desk at the specified time and venue, bringing a printed copy of the application form submitted on the SAMARTH portal.
Allotment of seats will be based on the preferences provided by applicants at the time of application. During counselling, eligibility and other criteria will be verified. If an applicant is found ineligible or fails to produce the required ORIGINAL documents, their provisional selection will be cancelled.
If found eligible after verification, a seat will be allotted. All allotments are Provisional and subject to fulfillment of all conditions as per Gauhati University (GU) rules. The decision of the Admission Committee shall be final.
The payment link on the SAMARTH portal will be activated only for candidates found eligible after document verification.
Refund of admission fees, if applicable, and within the prescribed schedule, will be processed as per GU and AICTE rules.
Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) of Assam is mandatory for all candidates at the time of counselling.
For OBC/MOBC candidates, the Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) Certificate is compulsory.
If any seats remain vacant, the next round of counselling will be held on a date to be notified on the Gauhati University website. For detailed information, please refer to the Information Brochure available on the GU website.

The allotment of seats during counselling is provisional and subject to verification of documents. If it is found that the admission is not supported by valid documents, the provisional allotment may be forfeited. Applications for withdrawal of seat/ refund of fees will be considered as per Gauhati University rules. Students who have already been allotted seats and wish to withdraw must apply for CANCELLATION of seat at the SAMARTH portal on or before 21st July, 2025 and also send a mail to guist@gauhati.ac.in. After that, no cancellation will be entertained.
