The University shall not be liable for any implication (be responsible in any way) in case any of the information submitted by the applicant is found to be erroneous and incorrect. His/her application/counseling/admission may be terminated in such cases.

A student whose mark-sheet/grade-card does NOT mention marks obtained, and only shows grades, must submit an equivalent certificate/formula from the concerned University to convert grades to percentage marks at the time of documents verification. Failure to do so will lead to cancellation of her/his application.

*** 50% marks in graduation or post-graduation degree shall not apply for persons appointed as teachers prior to the commencement of the National Council for Teacher Education (Regulations, Norms and Procedure) second Amendment Regulation 2010.

Only those teachers who are teaching in class V to XII are eligible under Deputed category.

In order to be considered under the deputed category the teachers from Secondary / Higher Secondary schools affiliated to W.B.B.S.E. / W.B.C.H.S.E. must produce a copy of the appointment letter from the District Inspector of Schools and a No Objection Certificate from the Managing Committee of the school duly countersigned by the District Inspector of Schools (The Managing Committee must clearly certify whether or not the teacher teaches in class V to XII), at the time of admission. Jadavpur University will not take the responsibility of disbursement of deputation allowance.

All applicants must have completed results at Bachelors (Honours) and/ or Masters level and also passed in all papers.

If a student's marks in any particular examination at any level increases after review of his/her result for that examination by the concerned Institute/University after the last date of submission of online application (18/09/2025), such additional marks shall not be considered hereafter and at the time of verification/admission.

The available method subject groups are Humanities, Science & Social Science. The final selection of method subject will be done after admission.

For PD category:
Persons with 40% or more disability will only be considered for admission under PD category under RPD Act, 2016.

For SC/ ST category:
As per circular Nos. BC-16014/1/82-SC dt.06/08/1984 & BCD-1, D.O.12017/11/89-SCD(R.CELL) dt.09/01/1990 and 1465–BCW/MR–67/10 dt.30/04/2010 from the Government of West Bengal, Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes of the States other than West Bengal are not entitled to get the benefit of reserved quota in Educational Institutions in West Bengal. Such students may get the benefit of reserve quota if they have domicile certificate of 10 years residency in West Bengal.

For OBC-A/OBC-B Category:
The candidates who will be provisionally selected under the OBC- A and OBC- B categories must produce an OBC certificate as per Gazette notification No. 1106-BCW/MR-33/2025 dated 3rd June, 2025 and 917-BCW/MR-33/2025 dated 8th May, 2025 issued by Backward Classes Welfare Department, Govt. of West Bengal.

OBC-A and OBC-B candidates from the States other than West Bengal are not entitled to get the benefit of reserved quota in Educational Institutions in West Bengal. Such students may get the benefit of reserve quota if they have domicile certificate of 10 years residency in West Bengal.
Selection Procedure
Fresher Candidates will be selected in order of merit calculated on the basis of the following score:
For Secondary or equivalent
(On the basis of aggregate of all marks obtained )
% of marks x 0.1
For Higher Secondary or equivalent % of marks** x 0.2
**Obtained Marks will be calculated on the basis of:
1. W.B.C.H.S.E.: Best of 4 subjects excluding marks of Environmental Studies/Environmental Education (out of 400 marks)
2. Central Board of Secondary Education / Council for the Indian School Certificate / Other Boards: Best of 4 subjects (out of 400 marks)
 
For Honours Graduates (Non-CBCS system)
(On the basis of aggregate of all marks obtained in Honours papers only)
% of marks x 0.3
For Honours Graduates (CBCS system)
(On the basis of aggregate of all marks obtained in Core papers and DSE papers only)
% of marks x 0.3
For Post Graduate
(On the basis of aggregate marks obtained in all papers)
% of marks x 0.4
Selection of teachers under Deputed category will be made on the basis of number of years of uninterrupted approved service in Government or Government aided schools (calculated as on 18/09/2025).
