SELECTION PROCEDURE

Selection will be made strictly on the basis of merit, determined by the marks obtained at the Higher Secondary or equivalent examination (10+2), Undergraduate/Bachelor's, and Postgraduate/Master's degree levels.

For Higher Secondary or equivalent	% of marks** x 0.1
Obtained Marks will be calculated on the basis of: 1. W.B.C.H.S.E.: Best of 4 subjects excluding marks of Environmental Studies/Environmental Education (out of 400 marks) 2. Central Board of Secondary Education / Council for the Indian School Certificate / Other Boards:** Best of 4 subjects (out of 400 marks)
For Honours Graduates (Non-CBCS system) (On the basis of aggregate of all marks obtained in Honours papers only)	% of marks x 0.1
For Honours Graduates (CBCS system) (On the basis of aggregate of all marks obtained in Core papers and DSE papers only)	% of marks x 0.1
For Post Graduate (On the basis of aggregate marks obtained in all papers)	% of marks x 0.1

However, candidates who have additionally completed a State/Central Government-recognized minimum Six-month Certificate course in Library Science with 65% or above marks will receive an extra score of 1, while those with 75% or above marks will receive an extra score of 2 when calculating their total score.
