Spot Counselling Notice for B.Tech. Admission 2025
It is to inform all the interested candidates who have applied through the SAMARTH portal for admission into the B.Tech programme based on CEE(Assam)-2025 and JEE(Main)-2025 Rank, the following schedule and rules are to be followed for a few vacant seats in some branches of the B.Tech programme.
Date of Spot Counselling and Admission: 5th August, 2025 (Tuesday) at 10:30 a.m.
Venue: GUIST Seminar Hall (3rd Floor), GUIST
Fee to be paid at the time of admission: Rs. 28,980/- + Counselling fee: Rs. 1000/- (Non-refundable)
- Eligible applicants must report to the admission desk at the specified time and venue, with a printed copy of the application form submitted on the SAMARTH portal along with all ORIGINAL documents.
- All allotments are Provisional and subject to fulfillment of all conditions as per Gauhati University (GU) rules. The decision of the Admission Committee shall be final.
- The payment link on the SAMARTH portal will be activated only for candidates found eligible after document verification.
- Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) of Assam is mandatory for all candidates at the time of counselling.
- For OBC/MOBC candidates, the Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) Certificate is compulsory.
- If any seats remain vacant, the next round of counselling will be held on a date to be notified on the Gauhati University website.
- Candidates who have already been allotted a seat in any branch and have taken admission but later cancelled their admission through the SAMARTH portal, will not be eligible for Spot Counselling. Such candidates will not be entertained under any circumstances.
- Applications for withdrawal of seats or refund of fees will be processed as per the rules and regulations of Gauhati University. Students who have already been allotted a seat and wish to withdraw may do so by applying for cancellation of the seat at the SAMARTH portal on or before 4th August 2025. In addition, such students must send an email regarding the cancellation to guist@gauhati.ac.in. For detailed information, please refer to the Information Brochure available on the GU website.
