Admission Details:

Prospectus and application for various courses may be obtained from the admission office of Vivekanandha Educational Institutions.

All the applications duly filled in should be sent by registered post to the admission office before the stipulated date. Applications can also be directly submitted to the admission office.

The following photocopies of the testimonials should be enclosed along with the filled in application.

• Mark sheet of the qualifying examination or equivalent.
• Provisional / Degree certificate of the qualifying examination.
• Transfer & conduct certificate from the institution last studied.
• Community certificate
• Migration certificate for other state candidates.
• SSLC certificate
• Medical fitness certificate.
• Ten Passport size & Two stamp size photographs of the applicant.
• Other necessary documents.

All the above original certificates should be submitted at the time of admission. Admissions are made to this college on the clear understanding that those who are admitted, will fully accept and abide by the rules and regulations in force and those which may be enforced or modified as and when required. Any dispute that may arise would be subject to Tiruchengode jurisdiction only.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR M.E./M.Tech.:

• A pass in a recognised Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the relevant field and obtained atleast 50 % (45 % in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying degree examination.
  
  • B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Arch. degree programme. (or)
  • B.Pharm. / B.Sc (Agri. / Forestry / Horticulture / Fishery) degree programme. (or)
  • Master’s Degree in the relevant branch of Science / Arts, which are prescribed. (or)
  • M.Sc. (5 Years) Integrated Degree Programme. (or)
  • B.Sc. 3 Years (Computer Science / Information Technology) and M.Sc. 2 Years (Computer Science / Information Technology)
  • MCA (3 Years) after 10+2 years H.Sc. + 3 Years bachelor’s degree.
  • MCA# Lateral Entry (2 Years) after 10+2 years H.Sc. + 3 Years bachelor’s degree in BCA or B.Sc. (Information Technology / Computer Science).
• Candidates with section ‘A’ & ‘B’ certificates and other similar certificate of professional bodies or societies (e.g. A.M.I.E.) recognised by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India are considered to be equivalent to B.E. / B.Tech. Degree holders only with 2 Years regular full time Teaching experience / Industrial experience* in the relevant field after successful completion of the course including project work.
  
  * An experience certificate is to be produced by the candidates with AMIE Qualification.
  
  • 10 + 2 years H.Sc. + AMIE (with 2 years experience).

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO First Year B.E. / B.TECH. (4 YEAR) PROGRAMMES (As per norms of Govt. of Tamilnadu):

A pass in XII std., of Tamilnadu HSC (Academic) with Maths, Physics and Chemistry (or)
A pass in XII std., of Tamilnadu HSC(Vocational Stream) with Engineering / Technology. Vocational Subjects and any one or two of the related subjects like Maths, Physics or Chemistry. A pass in an equivalent examination accepted by Universities in Tamilnadu for admission to B.E. / B.Tech., / B.Arch. degree courses.

Rank statement from the approved agency like Consortium of Self Financing Engineering and Arts Colleges is mandatory for admission under Minority / Management quota. (Refer to separate advertisements from the authorities of State Government for Admissions under Government Quota).

Qualifying Examination:Diploma Candidates

A pass with prescribed minimum eligibility marks in any one of the Diploma in appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology of the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu / equivalent prescribed for admission to the Degree Course (Refer list of eligible Degree Courses for various Diploma Courses)

B.Sc. Candidates A pass with prescribed minimum eligibility marks in any recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Science of minimum 3 years duration with 10+2+3 years pattern and studied core Mathematics as one of the subjects at degree level. Note: Candidates with Degree other than Bachelor of Science are not eligible. For any clarification with regard to Diploma qualification, write a letter to DOTE, get it clarified and then admit students. On any account, candidates without prescribed qualifications will not be given admission approval.

Minimum Eligibility Marks:

Both Diploma and B.Sc. qualified candidates have to obtain the following minimum eligibility marks for admission to Lateral Entry as prescribed in G.O. (Ms.) No.263, Higher Education (J2) Department, dated: 30.6.2008 and as per directions issued in Government Letter No.5464 / J1 / 2011-1, Higher Education Department, dated:4.7.2011.

• Rounding off of minimum eligibility marks is not permitted and the candidate should have obtained the minimum prescribed marks
• In case of candidates studied in annual pattern, marks obtained by them in the Final year shall be taken into account for arriving at minimum eligibility marks.
• Sandwich Diploma : In case of Sandwich Diploma, marks secured in the last two semesters of the course shall be considered. If the Industrial Training intervenes in any one of the last two semesters, then the marks of the previous semester in which there is no Industrial Training shall be considered.
• Part time Diploma: In case of Part time Diploma, the marks secured in the last 3 semesters examination including private study marks shall be considered.

Note: when the candidates produce grade certificate, they have to produce the actual marks also otherwise only the minimum marks applicable to the grades in the subjects will be taken into account.

The Central Library of Vivekananda College of Engineering for Women has set its vision “to satisfy the user Community”. The three main sections of the Library

• The Circulation / Reprography/ Administration section.

The unique feature of our Library assigns a Library hour, giving students ample time to use the Library facility.

Digital Library

The Air conditioned Digital Library has been functioning successfully with a high speed internet facility to access E-Resources without any interruption.

Hostel

The management provides a state-of-the-art hostel to all the inmates. The facility caters to and looks after the needs of the students who are from all over the country and abroad. Located conveniently in the proximity of the college campus, the well-furnished hostels are equipped with all modern amenities and are efficiently administrated to provide right atmosphere for student life and assures safety and security to our students. Separate Hostels are available for paramedical, Arts & Science, Engineering, Education, Physical Education and Teacher Training Institutions. At present more than 3500 students accommodated in the hostels. The hostels are administered by wardens and they take utmost care of the students. Every hostels are provided with STD and ISD call services.

Cafeteria

Tasty and hygienic, vegetarian and non-vegetarian food are cooked and served in buffet style. All efforts have been made to serve a wide variety of food to cater their diverse tastes.

Auditorium

Vivekanandha college has a spacious and grand auditorium with a seating capacity of 3000 students. Many programmes, college culturals and festives, workshops are luxuriously conducted here.

The management operating a fleet of Buses, Vans, Numbering more than 230 for easy mobility of the students from different parts of the districts of 9 Divisions which includes Namakkal, Erode, Salem, Karur, Dharmapuri, Sathyamangalam, Tirupur, Avinasi and Pallapatti.

Hospital

Vivekanandha educational institutions additionally own VIVEKANADHA MEDICAL CARE HOSPITAL, which is a multispeciality hospital. This hospital was mainly established for the welfare of the students studing across the entire institution. It provides a special medical insurance scheme which facilitates free treatement and medicines for the well being of the students.

Sports & Game

Vivekanandha College of Engineering has endured active participication of students in sports. Students from our College have participated in various tournaments and won laurels. There are various games such as Ball badminton, Tennis, Basket ball, Volley ball, Throw ball, etc. These games will help students to be physically fit and have relaxation.

Banking & ATM

Vivekanandha Educational Institutions have 7 ATM centers and Indian Overseas Bank for transactions. The ATM is available for 24*7. We have City Union Bank and Indian Overseas Bank ATM Machines in our Institution.

Canteen

An exclusive canteen is available in the campus offering tasty and hygienic food. In order to cater to all the students from different parts of India and aboard, South Indian, North Indian and Chinese dishes are offered.

Car Driving School

Vivekanandha College of Engineering for Women, an Autonomous institution, affiliated to Anna University accredited by NBA, AICTE, New Delhi, TCS and an ISO 9000:2008 certified institute started in 2001 with 144 students, acquired an Autonomous status this academic year stretching its arm widely towards the students strength of 2212 and faculty of 200 at present.
