Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who passed / appeared Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as subjects, are eligible to appear in competitive examination after specified notification by West Bengal Central Selection Committee, Deptt. of ISM & Homoeopathy, Govt. Of West Bengal.

Selection Procedure

50% (25 seats) fill up will be on the basis of rank secured by the examinee after counselling (choice of college) through W.B.J.E.E. and 50% (25 seats) will be filled up by the management following the norms of Central Selection Committee.

Other Details

• 50% of total seats of every non govt. College would be treated as Free Seats and 50% seats as Payment Seats.
• Free Seats would have to pay usual fees as prescribed by the Govt.
• Payment seats would have to pay usual fees and an additional sum of Rs.75,000/- one time during admission as Course fee and fees like students, union, spots & games, Magazine, Festival and academic excursion etc.

Metropolitan Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital is the dream child of some elites of Kolkata who observed the suffering of low income group of people of this locality and thus being inspired by such observation they determine to established a Metropolitan Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital.

This college is recognised by the Govt. Of. India. Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. Deptt. Of Ayush and Govt. Of. W.B. Deptt. of Health & Family Welfare Ayush Branch. Affiliated to the Central Council of Homoeopathy. New Delhi and the W.B. University of Health Sciences.

Initially a building at 160 B.B. Gangaul Street, Kolkata- 700012 was taken on rent for functioning as hospital and respected Late Dr. Pradosh Majumder who was the founder of this institution rented a building latter on purchased at 77 B.B. Gangaul Street, Kolkata- 700012 , where the college was established. The first committee was included with honourable (1) Late Dr. Pradosh Majumder [Founder] (2) Late Sankar Das Banerjee, the coach of All India Football Team and some other famous personality of the then Kolkata.

The college was established for D.M.S. Course on 2nd june , 1972 with 400 students ( 200 in day & 200 in night ) when Principle was Dr. Satya Brata Sinha & Dr. Pradosh Majumder was rector. The institution got a favourable and fabulous response from the local inhabitants and very soon upgraded to D.H.M.S. Course with 100 students during 1986.In the mean time a lot of students passed the diploma course with outstanding results out of which a number of them were awarded with Gold Medel from W.B. State Council of Homoeopathic Medicine.

During 1999 the institution has got the affiliation in degree course from Central Council of Homoeopathy, department of AYUSH, Government of India transferred to Ramchandrapur, P.O. Sodepur, Kolkata:- 700 110. Two numbers of three (3) storied buildings were constructed on bighas of land with the help of Local Panihati Municipality and aid from Central Government.

It is in the walking distance from Sodepur Railway Station, 13 km. from Sealdah Railway Station, 12 km. from Netaji Subhas International Air terminus, Kolkata i.e. well communicated by bus, train & air.
