MIT DAT (MIT Design Aptitude Test) 2026, is conducted for admissions of B.Des & M.Des programs at MIT ID Pune (MIT ADT University) Pune.
MIT DAT is conducted primarily to evaluate and shortlist eligible candidates aspiring to pursue Under Graduate (B.Des.), Post Graduate (M.Des.) Program at flagship institutes under the umbrella of MIT ADT University Pune providing quality education in the field of design.

Registration Process for B.Des. / B.Des. Fashion & M.Des All
- Step 1: Register for MITDAT
- Step 2: Verify your mobile number for registration
- Step 3: Activate your account by verifying your OTP
- Step 4: Provide the required details in the application form.
- Step 5: Proceed to payment option and pay Rs. 3,000/- for Indian applicants and and Rs. 4,500/- for NRI, PIO, CIO and Foreign Nationals, Online through Net Banking / Credit Card / Debit Card
- Step 6: Upload the passport size photograph & required documents, accept the declaration and submit the online application form.
- Step 7: On scrutiny, verification and acceptance of application form, Admit card will be generated by 02nd or 03rd week of March and Candidates can download the Admit Card by login to his/ her profile on MIT DAT portal.

MITID Design Aptitude Test (MITID DAT) Only for B.Des. / B.Des. Fashion
MIT DAT (MIT Design Aptitude Test) 2026, is conducted for admissions of B.Des & M.Des programs at MIT Institute of Design (MIT ID) Pune.
Design Aptitude Test (DAT) will be conducted on 5th April 2026 between (Time slot yet to be finalized) at various test centres across India. (Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Indore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Cochin, Pune).
The MIT DAT committee reserves its right to change or cancel any of these centres.
Based on scores obtained from MIT DAT, shortlisted candidates will be called for studio test and personal interview which will be conducted in the campus (MIT Institute of Design Pune).

Submission of Portfolio & Statement of Purpose (SOP) for M.Des
- Process for Master Of Design (M.Des) Program:
For M.Des admissions process, candidates are required to submit their Portfolio and Statement of Purpose (SOP) and the same will be reviewed by the examination committee Based on the evaluation, shortlisted candidates will be invited for the second phase of the admission process.
M.Des admission process, you are required to submit the following documents:
• Portfolio: A compilation of your creative works/projects that best showcase your skills, design thinking, and creativity.
• Statement of Purpose (SOP):A written document (approx. 800–1000 words) stating your motivation to pursue M.Des, your career aspirations, and why you wish to join MIT Institute of Design.
- Submission Guidelines:
• Please ensure the portfolio is in PDF format (or provide a link if the file size is large).
• The SOP should be a separate PDF/Word document.
• Both documents must be uploaded in the Documents section of the application form. on or before 28th February 2026.
Portfolio: File size should be less than 10 MB
Statement of Purpose (SOP): File size should be less than 2 MB
Note: In case your portfolio or showreel file size exceeds 10 MB, please provide a link (within a PDF file) giving clear access to the main portfolio file stored online (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.). Ensure that the access permissions are properly set so the file can be viewed without restrictions.

Studio Test and Interviewfor B.Des / B.Des Fashion
The studio tests followed by personal interviews will be conducted by MIT Institute of Design Pune.
The list of shortlisted candidates for the Studio test and Personal Interview will be announced on website of MIT Institute of Design Pune.
All those candidates called for the studio test and personal interview are required to attend the studio tests and interview at respective campuses, which completes the process of selection.
The Admission Committee decides the procedures, grades and weightage every year.
The norms for the selection are the sole prerogative of the Admission Committee and the decision of the Admission Committee and the Management in any of the matters concerning the admission process and selection will be final. Any direct or indirect attempt to influence the admission committee or its members, academic office bearers or management will lead to the automatic disqualification of the candidate(s).

Studio Test and Interview for M.Des
The result of shortlisted candidates from Phase I for the Phase 2 selection process will be announced on MITID website.
The Studio Test and Personal Interview will be conducted at the MIT Institute of Design campus, Pune. The admission procedure will consist of a Studio Test followed by a Personal Interview, conducted by the respective department to which the student has applied. Candidates are required to demonstrate their skills, creativity, and suitability for the program through their portfolio, showcasing both academic and professional work as applicable.
No separate call letters will be sent to the shortlisted candidates. All those candidates called for the rounds are required to attend the studio tests and interview, which completes the process of selection.

The Selection proccess to MITID Innovation Program includes submission of proposal, a personal interaction with panel, in which candidates work together to devise responses to a problem or question. The process of selection is a transformative and enlightening experience. Candidates articulate their innovations, and how they have the potential to change sector-wide systems. They scrutinize their strategies and methods, and reflect on how they engage as individuals and leaders in today’s world. The selection process is not simply a means to an end, but rather generates robust discussion, sharpens ideas, and gives room for a journey of self-discovery and growth. We spend hundreds of hours screening thousands of profiles and select up to 20 potential innovators/founders to join our community.
