Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission in Post Graduate Programmes of Harichand Guruchand University, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal for the Academic Session 2025-2027 for the following subjects:

Bengali and Education - Against a few number of vacant seats
History and Journalism & Mass Communication - Against a few number of vacant seats only in SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B and PWD categories

Eligibility Criteria

M.A. in Bengali	Honours degree in Bengali
M.A. in Education	Honours degree in Education or B.Ed. with Honours in any School subject
M.A. in History	Honours degree in History
M.A. in Journalism & Mass Communication	3-Year Graduate in any discipline

General Information

Admission process will be done strictly based on MERIT.
The reservation in seats and relaxation in the qualifying marks in favour of the reserved categories shall be as per the West Bengal Government rules.
All Merit Lists are provisional. If any discrepancy is found (regarding the marks/ candidate's details) at the time of document verification or in the future course then his/her candidature may be cancelled accordingly.

Merit List Preparation Criteria

Merit List will be prepared on the basis of the Marks of Honours / B.Ed. / Graduation, as applicable. Only 2% marks will be deducted from the total percentage obtained in the qualifying examination (Honours / B.Ed. / Graduation) for all candidates having passed their qualifying examination in the year 2022, 2023 & 2024 for M.A. in Bengali, Education and History.
Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination in or before 2021 are not eligible to apply for Bengali, Education and History. This rule will not be applicable for Journalism & Mass Communication.

Category-wise Break-up of the seats for P.G. Admission

Category-wise Break-up of the seats for P.G. Admission shall be made as per the rules and regulations of the Government of West Bengal.
For Education, if candidates are not available in either Honours or B.Ed. category then the vacant seats will be converted vice-versa, as applicable.

Before applying through online mode, candidates are hereby advised to go through the fees structure, available in the website, for admission into the abovementioned subjects.

Application Fees: Candidates do not have to pay any application fee as per the guidelines of the Government of West Bengal.
