SELECTION PROCEDURE

  • The last date for online application is 04/07/2025.
  • There is no application fees. However, the last Date of submission of fees for admission test (Rs. 200/- for candidates under SC/ST/PD/EWS categories and Rs. 400/- for candidates under other categories. No admission test fees for Geological Sciences) through online is 05/07/2025.
  • For any help regarding online submission of application please mail at admissionscience@jadavpuruniversity.in (from 11:00 A.M. to 05:00 P.M. except Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays).
  • No separate communication in the form of email/SMS/phone will be made to the candidates. All necessary information will be available in the website only.

Selection Procedure
Incomplete application in any respect will be summarily rejected.
Merit lists of the candidates for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Geological Sciences and Geography will be prepared as follows:
For PHYSICS Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of (i) 50% weightage of marks obtained in average of Chemistry, Mathematics & Physics in 10+2 Board Examination and (ii) 50% weightage of the performance in written admission test.
Type: OMR based MCQ type questions
For Chemistry Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of (i) 50% weightage of marks obtained in average of Chemistry, Mathematics & Physics in 10+2 Board Examination and (ii) 50% weightage of the performance in written admission test.
Type: Short question-answer type
For MATHEMATICS Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of (i) 50% weightage of marks obtained in average of Mathematics and best of any two subjects from Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Statistics in 10+2 Board Examination and (ii) 50% weightage of the performance in written admission test.
Type: OMR based MCQ type questions
For Geography Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of (i) 50% weightage of marks obtained in average of Mathematics and best of any two subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Geography, Statistics, Computer Science, Computer Applications, Economics in 10+2 Board Examination and (ii) 50% weightage of the performance in written admission test.
Type: OMR based MCQ type questions
For Geological Sciences Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics : (Score out of 300) in the 10+2 Board examination.
There will be no Admission Test.
  • The following rule will be implemented at the time of selection for all subjects
    - The following rule will be implemented at the time of selection for all subjects.
    - Passing year 2023 and prior to 2023: 10% reduction of marks from the percentage of marks as obtained by the candidates.
  • For Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics, the question papers for the admission test will be set on the respective subjects only of 10+2 level.
  • The syllabus of the admission test will be as per WBCHSE 10+2 level and/or equivalent Boards of 10+2 level.
  • For Geography, question paper will be set on Mathematics of 10+2 level and on basic knowledge of Geography, General Science & Environmental Science.
In case of bunching of marks in the merit lists for admission of the last candidate the selection be made as per the following criteria:
For PHYSICS 1st Level: Marks obtained in Physics at 10+2 level
2nd Level: Marks obtained in Mathematics at 10+2 level
3rd Level: Marks obtained in Chemistry at 10+2 level
4th Level: Marks obtained in written admission test
For Chemistry 1st Level: Marks obtained in Chemistry at 10+2 level
2nd Level: Marks obtained in Mathematics at 10+2 level
3rd Level: Marks obtained in Physics at 10+2 level
4th Level: Marks obtained in written admission test
For MATHEMATICS 1st Level: Marks obtained in Mathematics at 10+2 level
2nd Level: Marks obtained in best of four (4) subjects at 10+2 level
3rd Level: Marks obtained in Mathematics at Class 10 board exam
For Geography 1st Level: Marks obtained in Mathematics at 10+2 level
2nd Level: Marks obtained in best of four (4) subjects at 10+2 level
3rd Level: Marks obtained in written admission test
For Geological Sciences 1st Level: Marks obtained in Mathematics at 10+2 level
2nd Level: Marks obtained in Physics at 10+2 level
3rd Level: Marks obtained in Chemistry at 10+2 level
4th Level: Marks obtained in best of four (4) subjects at 10+2 level
5th Level: Marks obtained in Mathematics at Class 10 board exam
Aggregate marks calculation for H.S./Equivalent Examination
Examination Board Instruction for calculating marks
West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Examination Aggregate marks of best 4 subjects excluding Environmental Studies/ Environmental Education/ Environmental Science (out of 400).
All Other Boards Aggregate marks of best 4 subjects, out of 400 marks.
