Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), a frontline extension institute of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India, is dedicated to the transfer of technologies related to agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries, and allied sectors. Under the aegis of the Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute (Deemed-to-be-University, recognized by the UGC and accredited with an ‘A++’ grade by NAAC, and one of the leading universities in India), the second KVK of South 24 Parganas district, namely “Shasya Shyamala Krishi Vigyan Kendra”, has been established.
