In pursuance of the Notification No. 986-Edn(U)/HED-12016(21)/5/2025-UNV SEC-Dept. of HE, dated: 01-08-2025 of the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal online application for the admission to 2-year M.A./M.Sc. Courses shall start from 08/08/2025, completion of application in the online portal for the said course will be on 20/08/2025 (11:59 P.M.)

Admission Criteria
  • Online admission process will be done purely on the basis of merit. Merit Marks will be calculated from 20% marks at the Secondary level, 20% marks at the Higher Secondary level and 60% marks obtained by a candidate in the Honours Subject.
  • Candidates applying for Post-Graduation in Zoology must have Chemistry as one of the General Elective subjects in undergraduate level.
  • Candidates applying for Post-Graduation in Botany may have Chemistry, Zoology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology as one of the General Elective subjects in undergraduate level.
  • For equal merit score, marks obtained in the relevant Honours subject will be given first preference.
  • Further preference will be given to the marks of the most relevant General Elective subject in case of candidates scoring equal Merit Marks in the Honours subjects.
  • Admission Criteria for Bengali (PG): candidates securing better marks in Bengali at Higher Secondary level will be given first preference and second preference will be given to the candidates with better marks in the subject at secondary examination level if other marks are equal.
  • Admission Criteria for Physics (PG): candidates securing better marks in Mathematics (General Elective) at B.Sc. level will be given preference if other marks are equal.
  • Admission Criteria for Zoology (PG): candidates securing better marks in Chemistry General Elective at B.Sc. level will be given preference if other marks remain equal.
  • Candidates applying for Botany (PG) must have Chemistry as one of the subjects in Higher Secondary (HS) level. Candidates securing better marks in Chemistry at HS level will be given preference, if other marks remain equal.
