Admission to M.E./M.Tech. Courses for the academic year 2025-26
ELIGIBILITY FOR APPLICANTS
Information for Admission to M.E./M.TECH. (2025-2026) will be available from 26 June, 2025.
On-line Application Form fill-up: from 30 June 2025 to 10 July 2025.
General Eligibility Criteria for all Three Admission Categories:

General Candidates, including EWS Candidates, to obtain the Qualifying Degree (as published under Table 1) with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (Equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA) of 6.75 on a scale of 10). OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Candidates will get a 10% relaxation, and SC / ST / PwD Candidates will get a 25% relaxation on the minimum aggregate percentage cut-off of general category candidates.

For the Programme in Mechanical Engineering (all specialisations), General Candidates, including EWS Candidates, to obtain the Qualifying Degree (as published under Table 1) with minimum 65% marks in aggregate (Equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA) of 7.25 on a scale of 10 as per AICTE). OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Candidates will get a 10% relaxation, and SC / ST / PwD Candidates will get a 25% relaxation on the minimum aggregate percentage cut-off of general category candidates.

For the Programme in Water Resources & Hydraulic Engineering (6-Semester) it is essential for the candidates to be in service.

Candidates possessing certificates equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. from the Professional Societies/Institutions, which conduct examinations in various fields of engineering [viz. The Institution of Engineers (India) (IEI), Indian Institute of Architects, The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), The Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI), The Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers, including Polymer and Environmental Group (IIChemE), The Indian Institute of Metals (IIM) and The Indian Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIIE)] to obtain aggregate marks as mentioned in clause 2.1.1
The candidates enrolled with the professional bodies and institutions as per MHRD OM No. 11- 15/2011- AR (TS.II) with permanent recognition up to 31st May 2013, stand recognised.
However, the candidates who possess certification from any of these professional societies must ensure that those examinations are approved by MoE / AICTE / UGC / UPSC as equivalent to B.E. / B.Tech.

Candidates who are appearing/have appeared in the qualifying examination in 2025, with the final result due, may also apply under Category (A) or (C). The Arithmetic Average of obtained Percentage Marks (or Percentage Marks equivalent to the obtained Grade Point) of all the results (semester or annual as the case may be) from 1st year of non-engineering programmes OR 2nd year of engineering programmes to the pre-final year will be considered as the aggregate percentage marks and that must satisfy the criteria as per clause 3.1.
If selected, they may be provisionally admitted to the programme and shall have to submit the final mark sheet of the qualifying examination, fulfilling all the stipulated criteria before 17th October 2025, failing which, the provisional admission may be cancelled.
Admission Category-wise Additional Eligibility Criteria:
The candidates must also fulfil the following criteria, as applicable, in addition to those mentioned earlier.

Category A: GATE - Having a valid GATE score in terms of the validity period and the cut-off marks in the candidate’s respective reservation category, if any.

There is No Seat under the GATE category for the 6-semester evening programmes.

Category B: Sponsored - Being in service with a minimum of 1 (One) year experience in the relevant field and duly sponsored by his/her present employer for the entire duration of the programme. The relevant experience shall be counted from the date of joining the job, but not earlier than the date of publication of the final result of the qualifying degree, till the last date of online application submission.

For Civil Engineering (all specialisations), Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering (all specialisations), Production Engineering (both specialisations), and Construction Engineering (6-Semester) programmes, a minimum of 2 (Two) years relevant experience is essential

Category C: Self-Sponsored - Candidates are allowed to apply under this category for all the programmes except those listed below. Applications under this category for the below-listed programmes, if any, will summarily be rejected without any further correspondence. For GATE programmes, eligible self-sponsored candidates may be considered against vacant seats of both GATE and Sponsored categories and for non-GATE programmes against vacant regular non-GATE and Sponsored category seats.

For Instrumentation and Electronics Engineering, general self-sponsored candidates, including EWS Candidates, to obtain the Qualifying Degree (as published under Table 1) with minimum 75% marks in aggregate (Equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA) of 8.25 on a scale of 10 as per AICTE). OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Candidates will get a 10% relaxation, and SC / ST / PwD Candidates will get a 25% relaxation on the minimum aggregate percentage cut-off of general category candidates.
