B.Tech.

Admission Procedure:

Admissions are made through the Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) and Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-MAIN) conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi.

Admissions through Lateral Entry for Diploma Holders in the 2nd Yr (third semester) of the B.Tech programme is limited to a maximum 20% of the sanctioned intake in each discipline. Such seats are filled from JELET examination qualifiers. Other conditions as per State Govt. notification.


Eligibility Criteria:

Both JEM and JEE-MAIN merit listed candidates shall have to adhere to the cut-off marks in qualifying examination (10+2) i.e., at least 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together (40% for reserved category) and with at least 30% marks in English (for all category of candidates) with individual pass marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and Vernacular (or any other fifth subject).


M.Tech.

M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering:

Eligibility Criteria:

  • 1st Class in B.Tech. in CSE / IT or Master’s degree Computer Applications (MCA) / Computer Sc. / Mathematics with Computer Sc. Specialization

M.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering:

Eligibility Criteria:

  • 1st Class in B.E. / B.Tech. in ECE / AEIE /Instrumentation or M.Sc. in Electronics / Physics (specialization in electronics) or equivalent.

M.Tech. in Bio-Technology:

Eligibility Criteria:

  • B.Tech. / B.E. in Biotechnology / Chemical Engineering / Biochemical Engineering / Biomedical Engineering / Industrial Biotechnology / Leather technology / Chemical technology (Food / Pharma)
  • OR
  • M.Sc. in Biotechnology/ Life Sciences/ Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry / Microbiology, Genetics, Biophysics / Microbial Genetics & Bioinformatics / Bioengineering.

Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.)

Admissions are made through MAT / WB-JEMAT (conducted by the West Bengal Board of Examination) qualifiers. The candidate has to present himself/herself at the college after qualifying the examination. Selections are made through GD/PI and on the basis of academic performance plus score obtained at MAT/WB-JEMAT examination. Final year candidates who have appeared for the above examination and awaiting their graduation results can also apply. However, such candidates have to produce their mark sheets and relevant documents before their admission to the institute.

Eligibility Criteria:

Graduation in any discipline under (10+2+3) system.The candidate must present himself / herself for admission at the Institute, within 5 days of counseling/allotment (in case of WB-JEMAT) or else allotment of the candidate will stand null and void.


Master of Computer Application (M.C.A.)

Admissions are made through an Entrance Examination (JECA) and counseling conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board(WBJEEB). There is a provision of up to 10% seats to be filled up through Management Quota.

Eligibility Criteria:

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline under (10+2+3) system with Mathematics as one of the subjects at degree level

  • Original copy of Provisional Admission Letter received from RC + 1 Photo copy
  • Original Final Seat Allotment Letter received from RC + 1 Photo copy
  • Attested Photo copy of Admit Card of 10th Std. as age proof - 2 copies
  • Attested Photo copy of Marksheet of 10th Standard - 2 copies
  • Attested Photo copy of Admit Card of 12th Standard - 2 copies
  • Attested Photo copy of Marksheet of 12th Standard – 2 copies
  • Attested Photo copy of Admit Card of WBJEE/JEE(Main) 2014 – 2 copies
  • Attested Photo copy of Rank Card of WBJEE/JEE(Main) 2014 – 2 copies
  • Attested Photo copy of Migration Certificate (for those registered other than WBCHSE) - 2 copies
  • Coloured passport size recent photograph - 8 copies

    Total fees required = Rs.54,000.00 – 20,000.00 (deposited at Reporting centre)= Rs.34,000.00 + Rs.1000.00(cash) for Admission Form and Prospectus

    Hostel charge of Rs.25,000.00 per semester (if hostel is required)

The Bengal College of Engineering and Technology was set up by the SKS Educational and Social Trust in 2001 with an objective of imparting quality education in Engineering and Technology. The aim of the College has been to maintain a liaison with the industries on one hand and the premier engineering institutions of the region (like the IIT {Kharagpur}, NIT {Durgapur}, CMERI { Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute, Durgapur} , ISI {Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata}, Jadavpur University {Kolkata} ) on the other. The College is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE-New Delhi), under Ministry of HRD, the Govt. of India and is Affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT). It is recognised by the Govt. of West Bengal.

Today, its vast infrastructure includes latest teaching-learning system, well equipped labs, separate facilitated hostels for boys and girls, to name a few. Many high profile ministers and dignitaries have visited and praised the college campus and its infrastructure.
