Eligibility Criteria
A Candidate is eligible for admission to B-Tech (Power Engineering) at NPTI (ER), Durgapur subject to the following conditions:
He / She should pass the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education with English, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics or an equivalent examination. In case of Lateral entry, he/she should pass the diploma in Mech-/Elect. Engg. from Govt. approved polytechnic college.
He / She should maintain good mental and physical health. No abnormality in heart, Lungs and vision.
He / She should have to qualify in the Joint Entrance Examination, of the year of admission, conducted by the West Bengal Board of Examination for Admission to Engineering and Technological Degree Colleges.
He / She will have to submit school leaving / Migration Certificate / Continuity Certificate as the case may be, within a specified date, otherwise the provisional admission of the candidate will stand automatically concealed.
Submission of Application
Candidates seeking admission to NPTI (ER), Durgapur need not submit any application until they have been selected for admission through joint entrance Examination.
Selection for B-Tech In Power Engineering
Candidates who will qualify at the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination, will act on the basis of the notification to be displayed on the Notice Board of NIT, JU, BE college or website of CSC for appearing before the Central Selection Committee on the date and at the time and place specified. Candidates will be required to produce the following documents before the Admission Committee at this institute.
The Admit Card / Marksheet for the qualifying examination showing the candidate’s date of birth.
The Admit Card for the joint Entrance Examination 2010 bearing the candidates Registration Number and the Examination Centre and any other document issued by CSC.
The Mark Sheet from the Board or the University showing the detailed marks in all the subjects of the qualifying examination (10+2). If the Mark Sheet is not available at the time of selection, it must be produced at the time of admission.
A character certificate from the Head of the Institution from which the candidate has passed the qualifying examination.
Medical certificate of fitness.
Migration / School leaving certificate
Other certificates mentioned in application form.
Duly filled in application form.
NOC for employed Lateral entry candidates.
Guardian’s Income Certificate
Reservation of Seats 22% seats are reserved for SC and 6% for ST students.
Admission Formalities
Candidates selected for admission to NPTI (ER), Durgapur will report to the Admission committee at the college on the date and at the time specified in the offer of admission. They will submit the Application Form duly filled in, all the original documents for verification, pay the fees and complete all other formalities.
Documents to be Brought At The Time of Admission & Other Information
The date and time for the candidate to appear before the Admission Committee at NPTI (ER), Durgapur will be mentioned in the Admission form Instruction leaflet. The original documents and fees for the first enrolment will be considered for admission :
The candidates who are absent on the date and at the time and place specified in the offer of admission or letter of call or who fail to deposit the fees for the first enrolment on the day of admission will be not considered for admission.

National Power Training Institute (NPTI) has been set up by the Government of India under the Ministry of Power, to function as the National Apex Body for Human Resources Development of Indian Power Sector. NPTI (Eastern Region), Durgapur is one of the nine Regional Institutes of NPTI established in 1968. The Corporate Office of NPTI is located at NPTI Complex, Sector –33, Faridabad – 121 003 (Haryana) and other regional institutes located at Neyveli (Tamilnadu), Badarpur (New Delhi), Nagpur (Maharashtra), Guwahati (assam), Nangal (Punjab), Faridabad (Haryana) and Bengaluru (Karnataka).
