Admission to B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture / Horticulture Course for the academic session 2025-26
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applications are invited for admission to B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture Course (4 years/8 semesters) at Mohanpur Campus; College of Agriculture, Burdwan and Bankura (Extended Campus of BCKV); under Faculty of Agriculture, and B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture Course (4 years/8 semesters) at Mohanpur Campus under Faculty of Horticulture of Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya (BCKV) for the academic session 2025-26.
The candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2 level) in the year 2025 or 2024, sre only eligible to apply for admission in UG courses for the academic session 2025-26.
Candidates can only apply online through the University Website (www.bckv.edu.in). A single application will cover both B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture in all campuses and B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture Courses at Mohanpur Campus of this Viswavidyalaya.

Percentage of marks: At least 65% marks in aggregate for General/OBC/EWS/Sports quota candidates, and 55% marks for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
Note: Not applicable for ICAR candidates.

Passed Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) with English, Biology (Compulsory academic elective), Physics or Chemistry (Compulsory/Optional elective) and any 2 (two) of the following vocational subjects related with Agriculture and Horticulture.
Subject Code: (FVPR / FRGR / VGGR / PNMP / SMAG / CRNM / SPPR / JPPE / FMOP / FCPR).
(Marks of English must be out of 100)
Percentage of marks: At least 65% of mark in aggregate in the aforesaid 5 (five) subjects for General/OBC/EWS Candidates and 55% for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
Note: Not applicable for ICAR candidates.

All the candidates must be a permanent domicile of West Bengal. In case of ICAR's nominees, this clause will not be applicable. Candidates will be required to submit Domicile Certificate issued by the concerned District Magistrate or Sub Divisional Officer, at the time of admission.

EWS:
-
EWS certificate should be issued by DM/ ADM/SDO/DWO.

Valid EWS certificate should be submit on the day of physical verification of certificates and admission for EWS category. Failing to submit desired certificate on that date shall lead to cancellation of the candidature who had applied under EWS category.

PwD:
The reservation of seats as per State Govt. declared policy will be followed for specific type of Person with Disability (PwD, who fulfill the minimum physical fitness, essential to pursue theory and practical courses of agricultural education.
PwD candidates, found primarily eligible for admission under this category, would be admitted provisionally. The provisionally admitted PwD candidates would be referred to competent medical authority (to be decided by the University administration), to ascertain the genuineness of their disability, if required. In the event, any candidate is found not conforming to the prescribed disability criteria, their admission would be summarily cancelled.

Sports Quota:

Candidates having proficiency in Sports and Games can apply under Sports Quota for B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture Course only at Mohanpur Campus.

Minimum eligibility for Sports Quota: The candidate must have represented minimum District level in Track & Field / Table Tennis / Badminton / Cricket / Volleyball organized by School Games Federation of India (SGFI) / District Sports Association / State Sports Association or similar other organization or higher levels. Participation Certificate during current year or any one of the three preceding years prior to the date of publication of this notification are required for applying under sports quota. Selection procedure of Sports Quota will be notified in due course of time at the University website.

Candidates seeking reservation/ relaxation benefits available for SC/ST/PwD quota must ensure that they are entitled to such reservation / relaxation as per eligibility criteria prescribed by Govt. of West Bengal. They should be in possession of all the requisite certificates in the prescribed format in support of their claim and the date of issuance of such certificates should be earlier than the closing date of submission of application.

OBC-A / OBC-B:
-
A candidate applying for OBC-A or OBC-B category must produce OBC-A or OBC-B certificate issued by the competent authority.

OBC-A and OBC-B candidates only belonging to Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) category, will be eligible for admission under OBC category. A valid NCL certificate should be issued by the SDO.

Actual admission under OBC category will be undertaken only after getting directives from the State Government/Court of Law.

The candidates must possess good health and capable of undertaking extensive fieldwork. The selected candidates will be required to undergo a medical examination at the time of admission. If any candidate is found physically unfit at the time of medical check up, his/her admission is liable to be cancelled.
