Gandhi Centenary B. T. College stands on Jessore Road, National High Way No. 35, about a mile off from either Habra or Ashokenagar Railway Station on Sealdah-Bongaon Section. It is about 45 Km. away from Kolkata and is connected with the city both by Bus Routes and Train Services.
The College was established in 1968, the Centenary year of Mahatma Gandhi, to commemorate the hollowed name of the Father of the nation, who was one of the great educators of the world. Our College is a co-educational Day Teachers' Training (B.Ed.) College recognised by N.C.T.E. and affiliated to the University of Calcutta. N.A.A.C. has accredited B Level to this college.
Aims & Objectives
Teacher Training is an active Process and means a life of discipline to be lived. Trainees are to be disciplined in every respect.
Trainees of this College are to inculcate constructive and nationalistic attitude and cultivate some positive values.
Trainees are to develop the qualities of a successful teacher.
Trainees are required to be interested in academic thoughts, discussions and activities. They are to judge everything from academic point of view and eschew everything unacademic.
Trainees should have a genuine love for their institution. They must have identification with their College. They are to uphold the prestige and dignity of their beloved institution by their decent behavior, good manners, sound knowledge, love for the profession and sincerity.
