The admission process for B.Tech courses at NITMAS follows these criteria -

• The candidate needs to have passed 10+2 examinations from a recognised board.
• Admission to all B.Tech Courses is through WBJEE/JEE mains only.
• Admission to B.Sc. in Nautical Science is direct and merit based. The candidate needs to have passed 10+2 examinations from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
• Admission to the M.Tech course is direct and selection is merit based.
• Seat allotments to students in every college are made by Central Selection Committee through counseling sessions organised by them.

Special Criteria for Marine Engineering and Nautical Science Courses -

• Candidates must have an aggregate of 60% with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in their 10+2 or any equivalent examination.
• Candidates must have received 50% marks in English in their Class X or Class XII examinations.
• The age-limit is 25 years.
• The candidate must be physically fit with good eyesight (within +/- 2.5, for MRE and within 6/6 for BNS, no colour blindness).

The admission process for M.Tech courses and NITMAS follows these criteria -

• Candidates intending to appear in PGET shall have to apply online in the University website: www.wbut.ac.in. The application has to be submitted online in the University website and will not be available from any office of the university.
• The online application form is to be submitted to the university website. The hard copy of the filled in application form duly signed, the demand draft along with required documents has to be sent to the Chairman, PGET Board, West Bengal University of Technology, BF-142 , Sector-I , Salt Lake City, Kolkata – 700 064.
• The bank draft of examination fee should be in favor of the 'Chairman, PGET Board, West Bengal University of Technology', payable at Kolkata. Application without the prescribed bank draft will not be entertained. There will be no refund of examination fee if the candidate does not appear in PGET.
