Course Description

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates who have passed (10+2) examination from a recognized Board.
• Obtained 45% marks in aggregate of equivalent grade in qualifying examination.
  (Total marks of best of four subjects excluding EVS including English should be taken into account to calculate the percentage of marks).
• Person belonging to S.C. & S.T. may be eligible to apply if they secured at least 40% marks or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination.
• Candidates shall not be above 20 years of age as on 1st July, 2014.
• Two years age relaxation is available to S.C. & S.T. candidates.

Jalpauiguri Law College (Government Aided), a pioneering Law College was founded on 14th September 1981 with the objective of promoting and providing quality legal education is the said region. It is the only Law College in the entire District and its neighboring District of Coochbehar. It is situated in the heart of the twon of Jalpaiguri, West Bengal.

It aims at producing law graduates with a high degree of competence to deal with the emerging challenges posed by ever changing national and international legal scenario. It also strives to spread legal literacy and legal aid to the poor and needy with a view to take justice to the doorsteps of common man. The College has been provided with permanent affiliation by the University of North Bengal and approved by the Bar Council of India & Government Aided College. At present the College is imparting Bachelor of Law (Semester System) 5 Year integrated course.
