UNDER GRADUATE COURSE ELIGIBILITY & SELECTION

B.PHARM.

B.Pharm. Admission through ACPC (Admission Committee for Professional Courses), Gujarat
As per the norms of ACPC. The candidates must have passed the 10+2 Schooling from science stream with minimum 50% of marks. The candidates will be admitted on merit basis through Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC), Gujarat state.

B.Pharm. Admission on Management Quota (NRI Seats)
As per the norms of ACPC. The candidates must have passed the 10+2 Schooling from science stream with minimum 50% of marks. The candidates has to submit the duly filled application form alongwith application processing fee and necessary documents. The institute shall admit the students on the merit basis based on the application forms received by the institute.

TFW (Tuition Fee Waiver) Scheme
As per the norms of ACPC. The seats shall be filled on the basis of merit of the candidate by Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC), Gujarat state; only for the candidates whose parent’s annual income is less than Rs. 4.5 lakhs from all sources of income.

CIWGC-SEA (Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries and South East Asia) Category
The candidates whose parent are working at Gulf countries or South East Asia are only eligible under this category.

PIO (Persons of Indian Origin) Category
The Persons who are citizens of other countries (except Pakistan and Bangladesh) who at any time held an Indian Passport, or who or either of his parents or any of his grandparents was a citizen of India by virtue of the provisions of the Constitution of India or Sec 2 (b) of Citizenship Act, 1955 (Act No. 57 of 1955) are only eligible under this category

FN (Foreign Nationals) Category
The citizens of all countries other than India, who are not of Indian origin as defined under PIO are eligible under this category.


POST GRADUATE COURSE ADMISSION INFORMATION

M.PHARM.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

  • For admission to M.Pharm Programme, the candidates must have passed the qualifying examination (B. Pharm) from a recognised university with minimum 50% of aggregate marks* or equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Index (CGPI) or any other qualifying degree examination considered as equivalent of B.Pharm degree by Nirma University, Ahmedabad with minimum 50% marks* or equivalent CGPI. (*As per AICTE norms)
  • Candidates who are appearing for the final semester of qualifying examination (B. Pharm) can also apply. In such case, the candidate is required to submit the result as soon as the same is available either by email or by fax (scanned image) but not later than 27th June, 2015.
  • If applicant has passed the qualifying examination from a University other than Nirma University he/she will be required to obtain an eligibility certificate from Nirma University. The arrangement for obtaining the same will be made on the spot at the time of admission on payment of Rs. 500/-.

Stipend
The meritorious students (GPAT / Non-GPAT) will be given stipend as per university norms.


SELECTION PROCEDURE:

  • The eligible applicants with valid GPAT score will be given preference for admission in all the branches and admission will be given based on the merit of GPAT score.
  • The NON-GPAT candidates will be admitted based on the merit of the National-Level written test conducted by the University. The date of written test & counselling will be 21st July, 2015 (No separate intimated will be conveyed). The procedure will be initiated only if the seats are vacant after considering the qualified GPAT candidates.
  • For NON- GPAT candidates, the entrance test will comprise of multiple choice questions. There will not be any negative marking. The syllabus for the test will be related to Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry (Including Pharmaceutical Analysis), Pharmacology and Pharmacognosy of B.Pharm level.

If equal rank in case of GPAT candidates and equal score in case NON-GPAT candidates occurs the merit of qualifying examination will be considered



M.SC. COSMETIC TECHNOLOGY

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

  • A student seeking admission to any of the above mentioned Programmes must fulfill the following criteria:
  • The candidates should have Bachelors degree under 10+2+3/4/5, pattern of education in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Life Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Bio-technology, Agricultural, Veterinary, Fishery & Dairy Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine (MBBS), BDS, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Medical Laboratory Technology, BHMS, BAMS, B. Tech./B.E., Biotechnology, Physiotherapy and Bio-medical Engineering with at least 50% marks as aggregate of all the semester / years.
  • Candidates who have appeared for the final semester of qualifying examination can also apply. In such case, the candidates are required to submit the results as soon as the results are available either by fax or by email (scanned image).
  • If the applicant has passed the qualifying examination from the University other than Nirma University, he/she will be required to obtain Eligibility Certificate from Nirma University. The arrangement for obtaining the same will be made on the spot on payment of Rs.500/- at the time of admission.

PH.D. COURSE ADMISSION INFORMATION

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA & ADMISSION CRITERIA:

The applicant holding Master’s Degree or equivalent in the concerned field with 55% or equivalent grade is eligible.

If the applicant has passed the qualifying examination from University other than Nirma University, he/she will be required to obtain eligibility certificate from Nirma University. The arrangement for obtaining the same will be made on the spot on payment of Rs. 500/-.


SELECTION PROCEDURE:

  • The applicant, who intends to register for Ph.D. have to apply in a prescribed Performa. The selection will be done strictly according to the UGC norms.
  • The entrance test will be conducted for the eligible candidates irrespective of number of applications received, which will be followed by an interview by a committee consisting of the Dean, Faculty of Doctoral Studies & Research, Dean of the faculty concerned, Head of the Department(s) and a domain expert. The entrance test will comprise of multiple choice questions. There will no negative marking. The syllabus for the test will be related to Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry (including Pharmaceutical Analysis), Pharmacology and Pharmacognosy.
  • The presentation should be prepared on a project proposal of any of the core areas of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The selection of the proposal is completely at the discretion of the candidate. Do not limit the proposal to the research interests of the faculties of the institute. The proposal is meant for testing the candidates for scientific thinking and aptitude and may not determine the final Ph.D. topic. The applicant needs to submit three hard copies of the proposal at the time of presentation.
  • The candidate who does not meet with minimum 40% marks in written test, 40% marks in personal interview and 50% marks in aggregate will not be considered for admission.
  • The merit list will be prepared from amongst the candidates who meet with the above requirement on the basis of merit on aggregate marks taken of both the components, i.e. written test and personal interview.
  • Provided however that the candidates who have passed the National Level Test like UGC/CSIR(JRF) examination / NET / SLET / GATE/teacher fellowship holder, M.Phil etc or its equivalent shall be exempted from appearing in the test and they will be considered deemed to have earned 35% score in the written test.
  • On the recommendation of the committee, admission will be made on payment of prescribed fees and with the approval of the Director General. The Committee will also assign guide to each candidate selected.

NOTE: Candidates who want to apply under the recognized guide of B. V. Patel Pharmaceutical Education & Research Development (PERD) Centre, which is our recognized centre for Doctoral Programme in Pharmacy must write on the top of the application form as “Applied for Ph. D. Admission-2015 under the recognized guide of PERD Centre” and such candidates will be considered as Ph. D. external students, however, they have to work at PERD centre on full-time basis after the selection.
