B.A. Honours

Subject Basis of Admission Admission Criteria
Bengali Merit list will be published on the basis of
Aggr. Marks* + marks in Bengali		 For General candidates :
50% in subject & 50% in aggregate (for 2016 candidates only)

For OBC :
as per C.U. norm

SC & ST :
as per C.U. norm
English Merit list will be published on the basis of
Aggr. Marks* + Marks English		 As per University norms
Sanskrit Merit list will be published on the basis of
Aggr. Marks* + Marks in Sanskrit		 For General candidates :
50% in subject & 50% in Aggr. (for 2016 candidates only).

For SC/ST :
as per C.U. norms

For OBC-A & OBC-B :
as per C.U. norms
Political Science Merit list will be published on the basis of
Aggr. Marks* + Marks in Pol. Sc./English		 For General candidates
as per C.U. norms (for 2015 and 2016 candidates only)

For SC, ST, OBCA and OBC B
candidates as per C.U. norms

For candidates who do not have Pol. Sc. at the (+2)
level, merit list will be published on the of marks in best of 4 subjects + Marks in English
Philosophy Merit list will be published on the basis of
Aggr. Marks * + marks in Philosophy		 For General candidates as per C.U. norms :
(for 2016 candidates only) Must pass in Philosophy at (+2) stage

For SC, ST, OBCA and OBC B candidates
as per C.U. norms
History Merit list will be published on the basis of
Aggr. Marks * + marks in History		 As per C.U. norms (2014, 2015 candidates may also apply),

OBC-A & OBC-B
as per C.U. norms For candidates who do not have History at the (+2) level, merit list will be published on the of marks in best of 4 subjects + marks in English
Sociology Merit list will be published on the basis of
Aggr. Marks * + marks in Sociology/Political Science		 As per University norms** (for 2014, 2015 and 2016 candidates).

For General candidates, SC/ST

OBC-A & OBC-B
as per C.U. norms
Economics Merit list will be published on the basis of
Aggr. Marks*		 For General candidates As per C.U. norms and must pass in Maths in H.S. (+ 2) or equiv. Exam (for 2014, 2015 & 2016 candidates)

For OBC–A & OBC-B :
as per C.U. norms and must pass in Maths in H.S. (+ 2) or Equiv. Exam (for 2014, 2015 & 2016 candidates)

For SC/ST :
As per C.U. norms and must pass in Maths/Business Math in H.S. (+ 2) or Equiv. Exam (2014, 2015& 2016 candidates)
Psychology Merit list will be published on the basis of
Aggr. Marks*		 As per University norms**
(for 2014, 2015 and 2016 candidates)

* Aggregate marks means the sum of marks obtained in best scored four subjects in (+2) stage Exam as per CU norms. Any application not satisfying the Admission criteria is liable to be cancelled.

** CU norms : 50% in Aggregate with 45% in Subject Or, 55% in Subject or in related Subjects Or. 50% in Aggregate if the subject or related subject is not included in previous qualifying Exam;

*** The Candidates may also apply for B.Sc. (Hons.) in Economics with subject combinations : Political Science & mathematics as two other general subjects at undergraduate level.

*** The Candidates may also apply for B.Sc. (Hons.) in Psychology with subject combinations : Anthropology, Chemistry/Botany


B.Com. Honours

Subject Basis of Admission Admission Criteria
Commerce Merit list will be published on the basis of
Aggr. Marks * + Marks in Accountancy or marks in Math		 55% in Aggregate and 50% in the subject (only 2016)
For Science students - 55% in Aggregate and 50% in Math (only 2016)
For SC/ST candidates – As per C.U. norms (only 2016)
For OBC candidates – 50% in Aggregate and 45% in subject (only 2016)

* Aggregate marks means the sum of marks obtained in best scored four subjects in (+2) stage Exam as per C.U. norms
Any application not satisfying the Admission criteria is liable to be cancelled.


B.Sc. Honours

Subject Basis of Admission Admission Criteria
Economics Merit list will be published on the basis of
Aggr. Marks*		 For General candidates :
As per C.U. norms and must pass in Maths in H.S (+ 2) or Equiv. Exam (for 2014, 2015 & 2016 candidates)

For OBC–A & OBC-B :
as per C.U. norms and must pass in Maths in H.S (+ 2) or Equiv.Exam. (for 2014, 2015 & 2016 candidates)

For SC/ST :
As per C.U. norms and must pass in Maths/Business Math in H.S (+ 2) or Equiv. Exam (2014,2015 & 2016 candidates)
Physics Merit list will be published on the basis of
Agg. (best of 4 subjects) + 3 times marks in Physics + 3 times marks in Mathematics; total scaled in 1000; for the students who satisfy the aforesaid criteria		 For General candidates :
70% in Aggr. and 70% marks in Physics & Maths each, for 2016 candidates only. For 2015 candidates, 75% marks in Aggr. 75% marks in Physics & Mathematics are required.

For SC/ST :
60% Aggr. & 60% in Maths and Physics each (2016 candidates only) and 60% in Aggr., 60% in Physics and 60% in Mathematics each.

For OBC-A & OBC-B :
60% in Aggr.& 60% in Maths & Physics each (2016 candidates only)
Chemistry Merit list will be published on the basis of
marks obtained in (best of 4 subjects + Phy. + Maths + Eng. + 2 x Chemistry) = merit marks		 For General candidates :
60% in Aggr & 60% in Chemistry, only for 2016 candidates

For OBC-A & OBC–B :
58% in Aggr. & 58% in Chemistry (2016 candidates only)
For SC/ST :
as per C.U. norms (2016 candidates only)
Mathematics Merit list will be published on the basis of
Aggr. Marks * + 2 x marks in Maths		 As per C.U. norms for 2014, 2015 and 2016 candidates
Geography Merit list will be published on the basis of
Aggr. Marks* + Geography (Theory)		 For General :
65% in Aggr. (for 2016 candidates only)

For OBC :
60% in Aggr. (for 2016 candidates only)

For SC/ST :
as per C.U. norms (for 2016 candidates only)
Computer Science Merit list will be published on the basis of
Aggr. Marks* + Marks obtained in Mathematics		 For Gen :
50% in Aggr. + 50% in Maths (for 2014, 2015 and 2016 candidates )

For OBC-A & OBC-B :
As per C.U. norms (2014, 2015 & 2016 candidates)

For SC/ST :
As per C.U. norms (2014, 2015 & 2016 candidates)

Anthropology Merit list will be published on the basis of
Aggr. Marks* + narks in Biology/Anth. + marks in English		 For general candidates :
55% in Aggr. + 60% marks in Biology/Anthropology & 45% in English for 2016 candidates. For candidates passed in 2015 : 60% marks in Biology/Anthropology & 45% in English. Candidates must have Biology as one of the subjects combination at H.S. (+2) or Equivalent level & any two of the following subjects : Anthropology, Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Comp. Sc., Comp. Appli., Psychology, Physiology, Geography & Statistics

For OBC-A & OBC-B :
50% Aggr., 55% Biology and 40% English

For SC/ST :
As per C.U. norms
Zoology Merit list will be published on the basis of
Aggr. Marks* + 2 x marks in Biological Sciences/Biology
  • For General candidates :
    candidates passed in the year 2016 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio. Sc. securing 65% marks in Aggr. in H.S. or other equivalent Exam. are eligible to apply.

    For OBC (Both A & B) :
    passed in the year 2016, securing 60% marks in Aggr. may eligible to apply
  • General candidates passed in the year 2015 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio.Sc. securing 75% marks in Aggr. in H.DS. or equivalent Exam. May also eligible to apply.

    For OBC-A & OBC-B :
    passed the H.S./equiv. Exam in the year 2015 securing 70% marks in Aggr. may also be eligible to apply.

    For SC/ST candidates :
    as per C.U. norms
Botany Merit list will be published on the basis of
Aggr. Marks * + marks in Biology. + marks in Chemistry(Theory +Prac.) (+) marks in English
  • For 2016 General candidates :
    60% in Aggr. + 60% Biology (Th. + Pr.) & pass marks in Chemistry + pass marks in English
  • For OBC–A & OBC–B :
    55% in Aggr. + 55% in Biology (Th. + Pr.) pass marks in Chemistry + pass marks in English
  • For 2015 General candidates :
    65% in Aggr. + 65% in Biology (Th + Pr.) pass marks in Chemistry + pass marks in English.
  • For 2015 OBC–A & OBC–B candidates :
    60% in Aggr. + 60% in Biology (Th. + Pr.) pass marks in Chemistry + pass marks in English

    For SC/ST :

Psychology Merit list will be published on the basis of
